I'm taking the initiative to post this because Alyssan has given up into a "what's the point it won't make any difference" attitude over this. People have been spreading rumours that alyssan bought gil. This is absolutely false and i want this shit cleared up because a load of fucking morons believe every piece of heresay that comes in their direction.
A while ago there was a reasonably well known and very wealthy player named Zamie. Zamie had a krakens club. Zamie and Alyssan were good friends and when Zamie quit a while back alyssan got a present, this present was a Kraken's Club. as some of you people might know, though only the more learned, a krakens club is worth a fair piece of gil... now i know i let the secret slip here and it's gonna make a lot of people run out and try and camp it but yes, kraken's clubs are worth a LOT of gil.
Millions even...

now... since the update to the auction house service charges there have been not a lot of krakens clubs put up... i couldn't tell you why... maybe some people view 250k a lot of money to spend putting something in the auction house wen it could be sold probably just as quickly shouting in jeuno for a buyer. don't ask me why this works... for some reason people like to save money...

back onto topic... using this absolutely un-orthodox method alyssan miraculously sold the krakens club... amazing but true... and suddenly she had gil!! she bought optimal equipment and proceeded to start leveling...

Here she encountered a problem which is he origin of this topic which is only on the flameboard because i'm sure someone will turn it into a flame and by doing so will prove themselves of equal intelligence to colbwa...
Alyssan did not buy gil. she is not a gil buyer but people have spread this rumour and it's becoming impossible for aly to get a party.

This is bullshit and god knows how frustrating it must be for aly... just stop it. Aly isn't a gil buyer. She doesn't deserve this treatment.
Ujio is one of the sources of this rumour and has since realized his mistake and apollogized but the rumour lives on strong.

That's what i came here to say. flame if you want to, whatever, just figure out aly isn't a gil buyer.. thanks...
 
I believe you, even though I have idea who you are talking about. I've received money from friends that quit that have helped me make the money for the equipment I have. Nothing like a Kraken Club, but definitely feasible.
 
In like RL, people get envious and jealous of other's and covet. This leads to falsly accuse other people out of spite. The same people who point the finger and call you a gil buyer are the same people who suck a this game.
 
Alyssan is a pretty good friend of mine.. I knew she never bought gil, even when we were bored in the jungle one day and she randomly flashed me over 6mil in trade.. >.>

Sure I was jealous of that, but I knew she never sold gil..She even offered to help me with something, yet I don't remember what it was..And why would she "buy" that much gil with all the kick-ass equipment she was wearing at the time?

Anyways..Thought I'd put my thoughts on this: She didn't buy gil, would be pointless.
 
Buying gil just herts everyone we support companies scuh as IGE and they take control over the economy. That is partly the reason prices are so out of wack /cry Doesn't anyone remember the good ol'days when leaping boots were 50K and an Eperors Hairpin >100K
 
I remember boots being 150 at least..And hairpin being same..Never 50k though..And I've played since the beginning.. >.>
 
I, as I am sure amongs others, have no clue who you are talking about. But there is no point to openly accuse others of gil buying. And even if they do, let them, it will all balance itself out in the end.
 
Yes, buying gil sucks, stuff was cheaper before it was popular and all was good.

Back to the point of this post, people were just lying their asses off on an assumption of another player; that's never a good thing. I see someone with tons of expensive gear, my first thought isn't "damn gilbuyer" it's "wow, they must have farmed/crafted/whatever for a long time to get that much cash."

The worst part about this, is that there isn't much of a way to prove that someone is a gilbuyer unless they admit to it. So some people just label rich players as gil buyers, even though they have legitimately earned all of their gil. One of the problems with gilbuyers, other than them jacking up prices, is that they often suck horribly at their jobs, since they didn't have to work to get certain gear or levels.

That being said, Alyssan is in no way a sucky player. I static'd with her for several levels until our static broke up (couldn't get a rdm all the time). We blew the shit out of all of the mobs we fought, got constant chain 5's (even up to chain 4 without ANY form of refresh) and everyone was great. The fact that she can't get any parties because people are believing something completely unsubstatiated frankly upsets me.

People need to stop listening to random shouts and treating them as gospel. When someone's shouting about something, try asking around to see if it's true. A lot of times, these shouts are simply done out of spite and most of them are untrue.

What level is she? I'll invite her to all my pt's because she sounds like a good player lol

Its a smybol...

TP is gained by the 30s.
Rng/nin with Kraken is like having sam sub for meditate its almost cheating.

DRK/NIN with a Kraken + Woodsville = pain.



I dunno if i ever had a kraken i wouldnt sell it, but hey thats just me.

I'm with you. I would never sell it. A DRK with a Kraken club can rip things to shreds. I don't know if you all saw the DRK/NIN basically solo Adamantoise, but that video made my jaw drop. I'll try to find the link.
