Funny how supposed scientists running a huge aquarium wouldn't know this. :?

Because an octopus eating a 4 foot shark is common knowledge

If you have a octopus eat a barracuda 3 times the size of it, what does that tell you?

Wait lemme guess, octopuses watched Jaws didn't they?

Anyway did you not see the size of that sucker? He could eat you. :P
If you ever dived and had one of these small suckers lock up on you, you'd kinda have a clue. But your a land lubber. :P

Are those little thingies like... suction things or what? :o

Cool video though.

I don't see anything in there about an Octopus eating a 3 foot barracuda, but depending on the size of either of them, I wouldn't doubt it isn't possible. Post the url to where you found that info.

A shark is not a barracuda. A sharks skin is MUCH tougher, it was used as sandpaper back in the early days. This just goes to show how strong an ocotpus' beak is. It killed the shark through suffocation, not allowing water to pass over it's gils, the same concept wouldn't work with a diver. Unless it cut the air line somehow. If had even been a different species of shark, White Tip Reef shark, the outcome may have been different.

Octopi are extremely intelligant, somewhere close dolphins, dogs, etc... This makes them unpredictalbe. In Preditore v Pray, in most cases, size wins. Octopi are clearly smarter than that. But just how much, well you don't know 'till you see something like this.

Read my first post again dude, I have first hand expierience.

I don't just read this stuff in books, I have seen the proof first hand.

As far as a shark goes, have you ever caught a shark? Its much much much easier to catch than a barracuda, you can't even fathom how fast that fish is until you see it with your own eyes. As far as the skin goes, this is not some thin-skinned human your talking about, its an octopus, he eats spiny things, shelled things, skinned things, you name it he eats it. He can open capped glass bottles, bite ya with poison, and stalk ya like some assasin from hell, sand-paper aint gonna stop him, lol.

If your gonna talk about some 10 foot shark against some 6 inch octopus well ok.........

Guess what buddy, I've read it and seen it first hand so you can drop that ploy right now. You get something like in the video on you're line, piece of cake. Catch a Mako and it's a hole different storry. Depends on what kind of shark you caught... simple as that. I doubt it was the same kind as in that video.

A crabs shell is hard, but it's small, you could snap it with your own hands. An octopus' beak is specifically designed to break crabs shell. A sharks skin is more elastic and covered in tiny spines. Rub it the wrong way and you could cut your hand.

Btw, only one(maybe a few more) species of octopus is poisonous, and unless you live in Australia I doubt you've come across it.

It's completely possible that that particular octopus learned that those sharks can be food source, they barely put up a fight. However it lacks the evolutionary adaptation to pass that on to it's young. So you won't be seeing octopus' hunting sharks anytime soon.

In any case it's a new discovery and something scientists in the field will definently have to keep an eye on.

And what point is that? You mean the one you read from the book or the one you learn when you actually get bit from an octopus while catching it?

Yes sir the blue ring octopus is one of the most poisonous animals in the world but if you get bit by ANY octopus it will be painful for WEEKS. And its not just a superfical wound there dude.

As far as a point I really can't get any from what you wrote, whats it? Its obvious your trying to compare a dog fish to a man eater but I guess they don't teach you that in the books you read do they? lol.

If there's anything I've learned from Japanese culture, it's that things with tentacles are always evil. Always.

Keep talking shit, just making more of an ass about yourself

Now you're repeating what I just said

I make it simple... What kind of shark did you catch that makes you think a barracuda is harder to reel in than a shark?

Ok I see your problem now, you can't read.

Superficial: being or affecting or concerned with a surface; not deep or penetrating emotionally or intellectually;

We are talking about poison ok? If its not simply a superficial wound and its painful for weeks its because of poison. Get it?

Oh wait let me guess. I bet you thought I was talking about a DEEP wound huh? Ya the little 1/2 inch beak on an octopus is gonna rip my hand in half huh?

Or wait I bet you thought something even more absurd that I was talking about an octopus the size like in that video right? Ya I'm gonna go catch something that big barehanded.

I make it simple... What kind of shark did you catch that makes you think a barracuda is harder to reel in than a shark.

Ok for one. You walk into the water and catch a 2 foot shark with a net and hand, you see how easy it is. Now lol, let me see you try the same with 2 foot barracuda, and when it gives you a 3 foot gash on your leg and you still cant find which way it came at you, show me it so I can laugh at you.

As far as reeling in a shark vs. a barracuda. Its obvious you never even caught one before because you'd know your comparing dead weight vs. a fish that will jump and rip its own head off before it lets you in the boat.

I bet you can't even tell which one is a barracuda in that comparison.

lmao.
