Well, it's been a fun, foul mouthed and otherwise unproductive ride.

and I loved it.

BUT, I've left for WoW, joining Falsey on the Deathwing server.




The Prarie Bears are my sole beneficiaries.

I must conclude something:

FFXI = (insert lesser drug here)
WoW = Crack
Falsey and Svina = Crack heads
Blizzard = Crack dealers

The reason all this is happening is: People join FFXI because they heard it is a new high, an amazing buzz. Then they play for a while and find out the high kinda dies away and they need a new fix, because while this still gets them high, it's just not enough. That's where Falsey comes in... he's the crack head that decides to tell people about this new drug. Blizzard is the crack dealer who offers a freebase (first month free deal) to try their drugs (WoW). We all know what happens when you take crack now don't we?

Seriously though, Falsey and all others who left for WoW, I may or may not have known you, but it is still sad to see anyone leave. I would just like it though, if you all stopped posting about how "wonderful" WoW is and how crappy our game is. If you have any respect for the people still playing here, you'd find some WoW forum to post on and stay off the FFXI ones (since you hate XI so much compared to World of Warcrack).

Edit: I know that they didn't come on here and say anything directly but I've seen several posts from them inciting people towards WoW and just seeing someone leave gets me kinda peeved about the whole thing. And to Dirge, have fun.
 
All I can say is to have fun. Hopefully you will still /poke your head into the forums every once in a while. As for people coming back and talking about how much they love WoW I am fine with that. This is a game and if you aren't having fun playing it I would hate to hear that you were still playing. The way I look at it is nobody would leave unless they were unsatisfied with their current game. FFXI has problems as does WoW. For some the problems are too big or tiresom and for others they are tolerable.

Find the game you are happy with and play it for all it's worth.
 
i heard stuff about wow from a friend... says it just dies out when you reach max lvl... oh but you can jump!!! everyone loves jumping. nah... just have fun wherever your path leads you and don't forget about the ones who stood beside you on yout journey.

don't forget you can swim!!! and perhaps the thing that was best about WoW was the fact that you could go ANYWHERE!! that was fun.. I climbed up mountains and fell many times to my death in the beta XD but ya.. there was something lackin about it..hehe.. I might start playing it again though.. if I get a good job to pay for both FFXI and WoW and life expenses.
 
Tauro, FFXI is a game, just because they dont play it anymore, you want people to stop coming to this forum and interacting with friends and a community they like being apart of?

The whole enmity towards WoW is something I don't understand. It's just not another game, not the evil drug that stole your friends. You can interact with people outside FFXI, you could play both like I do, or add them to your MSN/AIM list etc and talk to them that way.

Why discriminate against a section of people for the game they choose to play?

I should explain a little more what I was saying. The thing about WoW being a drug, was a joke as you can probably tell. And I don't mean to sound like they shouldn't come back and say hi, or talk to people on the off-topic conversations but in the end this forum was created to bring people together on our server, since they're not on our server actively encountering the things that we are still doing, there is little they can add in means of new topics that are brought up other than "that's not how it was when I played" or "that is one of the reasons I left for WoW". I'm happy to see people come back and chat or whatnot but when people come back to just add in "Come to WoW" everywhere, I get annoyed. If you think I'm an ass for being that way, whatever, it's just how I feel. Yes I try to talk my friends IRL away from their games to try FFXI and I understand the feeling of wanting to bring your friends with ya, but after the 100000th post I read about how much better WoW is than the game I play, it's like hearing how being Christian is better than being Jewish (just an example, not a personal view, I'm agnostic). Same arguement with the same results. Sometimes it converts people, sometimes it just pisses people off.
 
yeah, gets another when people come to 'enemy territory' to rant on about how good their game is and etc. /cracks knuckles... although I may not be playing the game anymore (for the moment) doesn't mean i can't back y'all up.
 
it's not so much one game on upping the other, it's just what game suits your play style better.

And it's not like I didn't have a good long run on FFXI :D
 
the game probably just fizzled out its lifespan for you... for now... you never know, you may come back to it after WoW has fizzled out for you. You probably just wanna experience something different for a while...

Oh yeah, I forgot that you can swim in the game. My friends say just make sure you die in a 'nice' spot, not surrounded by tons of mobs, otherwise it will be a harsh journey to get back to your corpse.
 
I totally agree Dirge. Anyone who says one game is better than another is just using tunnel vision because every game has its problems. I hope you the best in WoW. I once looked into it but I couldn't take the play style or the graphics style at all. It has a very cartoony look to it. I am a long time fan of Square made games and they have a unique visual styling that I've become accustomed to. Nobody can play one game forever unless you're one of them EQ1 players that for some reason stay there, and even I'm currently looking for one to move to at the end of the year despite the fact I haven't even gotten to 75 yet or whatever, I know that FFXI won't stay interesting if nothing changes between now and then, probably DDO but who knows when that's gonna take off.

I'd be all for a cross-game forum for us all to gather in btw, if anyone wants to start that idea. Just a thought.

Dude I was just like you, till I acctualy tried WoW. Took me a good week before I even truly liked the game.

The other manner, the whole trying to get people over to WoW. :roll: Sheesh get over it man. WoW IS a better game, in my eyes. Every problem that FF has, doesnt really excist in WoW.

Tauro till you try it man, just relax and breath. FF is good and all, and it was a good run, but WoW is a great change of pase, and for the first time in like 4 months I'm having fun, and enjoying a GAME!

The recruitment aspect of me and Svina isnt us trying to steal FFs money, we dont give a crap. Its when people, much like yourself, are upset about many of the things I mentioned above, either me or him say, "play WoW".

When a game stops being fun, stop playing it.

Dirg came here to say goodbye to his friends, you have now pissed me off and turned this into some stupid argument. You like FF, fine stay in FF, level level level level, when you get done leveling, come play WoW with us man.
