But just because he ignores it does not mean you have to ignore his blatant rudeness, and social retardation.

ill crap on ure head and make it even :D

I think it's because while Peregrine can anonymously "brag" about his so-called "accomplishments" in real life, he doesn't want us to brag about hard evidence accomplishments in the game(better gear, more gil, better linkshell,) because it'll hurt his feelings that he's nothing in the game, and can only spin out things about real life, which we should believe, because hey, nobody has ever lied over the internet, right?

We can't say we're superior players in FFXI, but he sure can spew bullshit about being a superior person in real life. Thats why no one likes Peregrine. He plays the High And Mighty card against people he knows nothing about, but when someone does it to him, it's all of a sudden "wrong" and means nothing.

gg Peregrine.

One of the many reasons, I'd assume.

A great example of him being caught in a lie was in the PCC thread where I pointed out the blatant inconsistencies in his web of lies on the particular issue of him supposedly being a med school student. His response? Ignoring the issue.

Gotta hand it to him, he can spew bullshit and ignore the elephant in the room like a pro. Unfortunately, that's about all you've 'gotta hand to him'.

forgot to add that your post was very well worded skaw.

This is the type of post Peregrine will not respond too. Very nicely put.

You're hiding from the real world within a game. Anonymity doesn't let me brag about the real world. It gives you losers the courage to think you're my equal. Nevermind that within the game I have around 15 million in assets barring whatever 80 cloth is worth these days, run a dynamis shell, and host events for people of this forum on a weekly basis. What do you all do? lol farm and grub internet gil. GG, losers. Probably no more worth something in the game than you are in real life, which is ironic. What do you do for quetza that makes you think you're worth more than I am in the game?

Because that's about as funny as you claiming you're equal to me in life.

Seriously. Not one single poster in this thread makes a difference in quetza. You all just don't matter. You're not capable of being somebodies.

I...I don't make a difference... my life it's crashing down around me.... you... you've given me no reason to live...I'M A NOBODY! HOW CAN THIS BE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if everything you've said (even the things that have contradicted each other) are 100% gospel, why the fuck do you think anyone cares? The beauty of virtual worlds is they don't discriminate based on what your real-world standing is. Anyone in-game could be 13 or 73. Male or female. A lawyer, a welder, a crazy homeless guy who spends all his panhandling money in internet cafes.

But you're right. I am hiding behind my FFXI characters. Sadly, I can't call forth great fire beasts to rain destruction on large turtle creatures, nor can I take my fists and punch them through animated skeletons returned from the grave with who I am in real life. I can't make furniture, arrows, and flutes appear out of thin air. And for that, I am sorry.

Peregrine, you remind me a lot of an old friend I grew up with, Rob. Rob lived next door to me. He had a good head on his shoulders, was pretty good at team sports. Like me, the teachers said he was 'gifted.' Special, if you will. My parents took that to mean I needed to be challenged. Those challenges got me through all the schooling, scholarships, education I needed and now I'm using that to build a bankroll so I can go back to school and study what I really want to do with my life.

Rob, on the other hand, had a set of parents who took 'gifted' to mean 'world champion everything.' They coddled him. Told him how he was always right. How nobody should ever try to question him, because they obviously didn't know what they were talking about. He got in trouble with the teachers constantly. He'd run screaming out of the classroom if he got a B or lower. He'd cry about how it wasn't his fault when he made mistakes, how the person he was copying his answers from should have just hidden their sheet better. When he was named second string halfback on the varsity football team, he threw his helmet through the coach's office window and quit. He turned down full scholarships to Northern Illinois, U of I-Urbana/Champaign, and Colorado State because those schools were beneath him. He wanted Ivy League. He ended up getting into Northwestern after having to pay for almost 90% of it in loans.

He's currently in his fifth (might be sixth, I believe he took a year off to 'find himself',) has a sub-3.0/5 GPA and has been on and off academic probation for the last three years. He's been through countless failed relationships (and two abortions,) a falling-out or two with his family, and many more other real life problems. But the one thing that's never changed:

It's never. His. Fault. He's always right, and it's just the world/everyone else/the teachers/the students/'the man'/whatever group of people he feels are responsible for his failures that are keeping him from his gifts. I think the only thing he's got left in his life is playing the role of the snotty martyr. He lives off of his past and his possible successes:

"Remember when I got a 1560 on the SAT?"
"I can't believe you didn't go to Northwestern. Did you think it'd be too hard for ya?"
Him at basketball/football games: "It's alright, it's ok, you're gonna work for us someday!"
"Man, when I get outta here, I'm gonna be making $200k a year starting. STARTING. You'll never make that with your cartoon voices, Cubs."

He's always got it all figured out, when just a few steps away everyone else knows he doesn't have a fucking clue. And it's impossible, totally impossible, to ever change his mind.

I'd stop talking to him and trying if he wasn't a childhood friend. But that doesn't stop me from being sorry for him.

Damn, that was long. Moving on.

Nevermind that within the game I have around 15 million in assets

15 million, for someone deep into endgame, is lower-middle class. Even selling off my extraneous shit I'd estimate I have double that, and I don't have TH2 to fall back on. Shit, Skaw has a single piece of gear that costs 4x your assets. I wouldn't brag about being a 75 - no, wait, still 74, sorry - THF that holds 15 million in assets.

barring whatever 80 cloth is worth these days,

About what 53 Cloth is worth. Maybe a little more due to Rainbow. Especially considering you've been at 80 for as long as I can remember your sig. You say you make so much gil in your spare time - shit or get off the pot about a craft where 95% of it's cost/value is getting it to 99-100.

run a dynamis shell, and host events for people of this forum on a weekly basis.

Great! Congrats. Nobody said either of these things were bad. I'm happy this is how you wish to 'contribute' to the server.

What do you all do? lol farm and grub internet gil. GG, losers.

Maybe these things wouldn't be so hard if you didn't rely on insulting anyone with a differing opinion.

Probably no more worth something in the game than you are in real life, which is ironic. What do you do for quetza that makes you think you're worth more than I am in the game?

Because that's about as funny as you claiming you're equal to me in life.

And what makes you think what you do 'for the server' makes you worth anything? What if someone told you they spent their gil on the gear you find totally worthless because it makes them happy and it makes their static happy? Are they not proving their worth not only to the server, but to other people in-game who respect them for their choices?

I understand that people don't always play this game by the rules I set for myself when I log on. I can see where they're coming from and I respect that. Why can't you? Why won't you? Everything's black and white to you. If you do X then you're Y. If P says Z is A, then Z is A. Even if Z is B, it's A because P says it is. If J says Z is B, J is wrong because P says so. And P is better than J, even if J doesn't think so, doesn't care, or it isn't true in the first place.

Seriously. Not one single poster in this thread makes a difference in quetza. You all just don't matter. You're not capable of being somebodies.

Except you? I mean, if Peregrine doesn't think I'm worth it, it has to be true.

Here's something for you to chew on: I AM A SOMEBODY TO MYSELF. I didn't install this game so I could become the raddest dude in all of Jeuno and have random people send me /tells and want to marry me and jump my Taru bones. I installed this game because I like Final Fantasy and I want to have fun. And I do that. Because I do that, it makes me a somebody.

I don't like the 'internet popularity.' It's cute, and it's neat that people see me and do crazy emotes my way because I'm 'TEH CUBZORRZZZZZZZ' or whatever the fuck people want to call me. I get /tells out of the blue from people I've never seen or heard of thanking me for my Woodworking, Cooking, Fishing, Alchemy guides. I get PMs on Alla from people cross-servers thanking me for them. Thanking me for my SMN guides, for my MNK FAQ, for the many long, detailed posts I've written and the videos I've made.

I don't reply to them. Or if I do, it's a simple thank you. I don't do these things because I want to be some sort of Internet celebrity. I don't do them so I can be someone, so I can validate my character or my intelligence. I don't do them for any of those reasons.

I do them because I enjoy giving back in my own way. I don't want to lead a Dynamis shell. A Sky/HNM shell. I don't want to babysit 40+ people all week, I don't want to have to deal with people hating me because of what someone else did off my watch. They don't interest me.

So please, Peregrine, tell me how much of a nobody I am. Tell me how I don't matter, how you outclass me at everything you've ever done (even the things that you haven't done yet, or never plan to do.) Tell me exactly how you met Tyler Durden at a very strange time in your life.

Because I matter to me. And that gives me everything I could ever want. Ever need. Ever strive to be. And nobody will ever. Ever. EVER take that away. Because they can't. YOU can't.

You don't know a goddamn thing about anyone's real life. You're assuming that everyone who plays except for you is a high school drop-out, with nothing to back it up. You're a med student, here's a cookie. I hope I never have to see you for any kind of medical problem, since your "bedside manner" leaves a lot to be desired. Until you actually provide some kind of evidence that we are as you say; and just to note, you're ill conceived ideas of us are not evidence; don't assume that you know all about us. From the way you act(i.e. Maturity), I'd have you pegged as maybe a freshman in highschool, but then, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you're actually in college.

You're right, not 1 person who posted here matters, yourself especially. You've got 80 cloth, so what; you run a linkshell, along with the 500+ other linkshell leaders. You've got gimp gear and you revel in it. Face it, you're nothing special, but then neither am I. I'm sure you're just going to say my opinion doesn't matter since "I don't matter."

Even if everything you've said (even the things that have contradicted each other) are 100% gospel, why the fuck do you think anyone cares?
Maybe it's because every time I open my mouth, 20 wannabe nobodies try to throw their two cents because they want to compare themselves to me. They want to think they can cut this. It's really funny. I have regular fanboys on this forum. The same old people come and try to post against me every single time. Cubs, baja, vang, decidence, raivvyn, skaw...sorry if I left your name off the regular dance card. I'm sure it makes you sad that I can't remember your names. These are just the people who couldn't stop comparing themselves to me if they were paid to.

[quoteThe beauty of virtual worlds is they don't discriminate based on what your real-world standing is.[/quote]

See, I'm the best of Rob and the best of you, and that's what makes everyone mad. People always think you have one or the other...talent or gumption. lol I have both and I'm not afraid to say it. I paid for my own education. Undergrad paid me to study for them, and I kept that scholarship for my career there. 4.0 GPA in undergrad while running for the university. Didn't even ask for an athletic scholarship. I didn't need it. Now I pay for my own education, because people don't get free rides to my medical college. They do pay for half of it though, which is nice. I'm not Ivy League. I live in Kentucky. I'm not a baby. I got a B in medical biochem...no big deal. I'm not spoiled. I bought my first car...a 1990 celica, which I still own. I pay for my own education, because education pays me to be educated. Your anecdotes about people with all talent and no will amuse me. I'm both. I take their scholarships when they fall out to "find themselves," and I laugh at them when they crash and burn. People with all talent and no effort make me sick. People with no talent and no effort make me laugh. If you don't have the talent, but you work for it...I got no problem with that. But don't be jealous. You tell yourself you're better than people with more talent because you work harder in the same way that ugly people say that they're beautiful on the inside. Here's the thing though...hate to say this, but there are beautiful people with beautiful personalities. And there are talented people who work hard.

People can go from 2 million in gear to 42 million in gear just by getting lucky at the Sozu camp. If I sold what I have I would probably have 15-20. Most of what I have isn't sellable. Again, how much gil you have in the game is a loser's standard.

And what makes you think what you do 'for the server' makes you worth anything?
You spend your talents on yourself. Do you have any idea how many millions of gil I've gotten others? I handed out over 30 million gil over the past month from BCs. Took you to Ouryu with a flawless group. Every week I enable the giving of millions in relic drops to people in the server. All they have to do is show up. Could they do it without me? Yes. Do they? No. What do you do? Farm your own POS interet ego. Nice job. You helped someone once.

Why can't you? Why won't you? Everything's black and white to you.
Ahhh this is what normal people hold those with talent and effort to: a higher standard. That's fine. I've been hitting higher standards all my life for people who don't care to follow me there. I just got called a gimp. That's hilarious. By a nobody like bajaratt who just tags along in the game and doesn't really do anything. Where's the respect for what I do? All you morons see is the gear and the gil. I've handed out more assets in this game than all of you are worth put together. lol but I'm a gimp with my emp pin, snipers, leapers, rare/ex's, relic gear, amemet+1. You all are pathetic. You want me to respect your insignificant gear. Hypocrites. You don't have the slightest respect for what I do to this server, which I can guarantee has been more significant than all of your farming put together.
I AM A SOMEBODY TO MYSELF.{/quote]
Sounds like Rob rubbed off on you.

I hope I never have to see you for any kind of medical problem, since your "bedside manner" leaves a lot to be desired.
Here we go again. 2-bit nobody thinks they're hot **** because they have a keyboard! This isn't a bedside. You're my entertainment in between preparing for an exam on monday. Have someone check my ISP right now. Tell me where I am.

Yeah, Bajaratt, you're right. Your opinion doesn't matter because you don't matter. If I had a nickel for every time you tried to nip my heels I'd own the server. Wannabe.

Wannabe what? Someone who think's they're god's gift to the server? Someone whose sheer arrogance makes Vang look humble? How about someone who thinks that they know more about other's jobs when that job is low level? No thanks on all accounts.

I'm not a wannabe because I don't claim to be anything I'm not. I'm a white mage and a monk, and I'm good at both jobs. I'm not the best, but I'm damn far from the worst. I don't act like I know everything, and I don't ignore relavent points just to call people morons for disagreeing with me. I also don't treat everyone like they're retarded or a middle schooler because I don't have any way to defend myself against their arguments. So please, tell me where I'm being a "wannabe."

Also, before this thread gets off track, I want to add that while Vang is arrogant, he at least has reason to be.

Should I fix your quotes for you? For someone as smart as you are simple proofreading and use of the Preview button seems to be beyond your grasp. Being so perfect and all, I doubt minor editing mistakes will ever cost you in whatever profession you choose to go into.

Right, it discriminates based on how much internet gil you have. That is SO much better.

No, it discriminates based on who you are as a person. I get my praise because I'm altruistic to anyone who's willing to click on a link. You get it because you can herd 40 people into a zone to do stuff. They both have their purposes.

words about words about education

Another assumption. I've had both the means and the 'gumption,' as you put it, to do whatever I've put my mind to. And that's why, barring anything life-changing I'm heading off to the Walter Cronkite school of Journalism next fall. Because what I've got education-wise is a pretty coaster that lets me do things I don't much care to do anymore. My interests when I was a 16-year old college freshman don't quite match up with what I want to do today. So I'm soldiering on. Rob was my equal, probably my lesser in a lot of ways (I had a higher HS GPA, better ACT/SAT scores, and was accepted to all the places he was. I chose a state school for the full ride and the debt-free education.)

You're a lot more like him than you think. Maybe not 'i r l' (which, again, is totally irrelevent the second you log on.)

People can go from 2 million in gear to 42 million in gear just by getting lucky at the Sozu camp. If I sold what I have I would probably have 15-20. Most of what I have isn't sellable. Again, how much gil you have in the game is a loser's standard.

And you can also go from 2->42 million by having a better business model than 'getting lucky.' I should know.

Took you to Ouryu with a flawless group.

And I took you to Diabolos with a flawless group after you were what, 0/7 on him? 0/8? Let me dig up all those posts about how it was always everyone's fault but yours. Bad Stunners. Bad whatever. Never Peregeine. And that Ouryu group? Thanks for all the Acid Bolts (when 80%+ of our damage was magic-based), the Viper Bite that caused our 2nd wipe with the first group (the first one I'll admit was the fault of others.) I'll admit I made some mistakes (the Too Far Away on our win) but never did my actions directly cause a wipe.

Farm your own POS interet ego. Nice job. You helped someone once.

I guess the hundreds of PMs and posts I've had on Alla thanking me from multiple servers are one person, once.

You don't have the slightest respect for what I do to this server

Stop acting like you're owed respect. You're like the snotty rich kid who invites all the cool kids to a party at his house with a band and a pony and all the underage drinking they can stand because Mommy and Daddy are out of town. Everybody still hates him, but they show up because who's gonna turn down free stuff?

Good old David. He threw some awesome parties.

Sounds like Rob rubbed off on you.

Hardly. The second I require approval from someone like you to validate myself, I'll go slam my head into a brick wall. It'd be just as rewarding and I might get further with the wall.

What a loser. I take you to Ouryu assuming you're not petty enough to sit there and take an invite when you can't stand me. Then you bottle all this **** inside waiting to use it. You don't like thieves? Don't take invites from them. Don't invite them to stun your diabolos with perfection. And most of all, don't try to steal the people who I've taken part-way through CoP. Mmmmm convenient that you put sacrarium on saturday when I have dynamis. I see how it is. Guess that's how you play. What a 2-face. Play pattycake with me if it serves you enough.

You're like the snotty rich kid who invites all the cool kids to a party at his house with a band and a pony and all the underage drinking they can stand because Mommy and Daddy are out of town. Everybody still hates him, but they show up because who's gonna turn down free stuff?

Don't show up next time. I don't associate with 2-faced suckups. Can't believe I gave you the benefit of the doubt.
