I just cannot understand why people choose to speak/type like this. What does it prove? In my mind, it proves that these people are twats.

lol...altho I can't say much about that KIND of speaking, on WoW the other day and i quote; "Yo mang git ova hur and hury wit it cuz I'z gotta git to my sizters lates" No joke he literally talked like that for over 3hrs while doing an isntance (Sunken Temple)... I about left the party; but ... I needed to lv so... :( i put up with it
 
The fact that I was able to decipher the first half of it scares me a little bit.

Its sad that they are only fooling themselves in building up an image that makes them look like no better than an opo-opo not knowing what a banana is. But hey thats the "fad" nowadays.... ~_~; I'm glad I'm out of that teenage culture, lol. For those in it stay strong. Things get better. ^_^;

Back to the topic at hand, I understand what you mean.
In my younger years, I used to talk to some girl online and she would speak the same way. You do not know how many times I said "WTF?" "Speak english" and she was ditzy and thought it was funny.
Eventually she got the picture, when I talked to her over the phone that I really didn't understand anything she says.
Talking to her over the phone, she spoke similar but was a little more understandable. I believe some people just speak normal in person, but type all ghetto online. Then again... I've come across individual who type and speak jargled non-sense as mentioned above.
I will admit...she was attractive though, lol.
 
What makes me mad is when people don't use the spellchecker built into this board.

Screaming at you for two minutes straight 'til spittle is flying out of the mouth and veins are bursting at every possible spot on the face, eyes bulging and face crimson red. Then they pass out after the last WTF. Reminds me of that Sports Talk radio jockey joke, Steve Ferrel (spelling).

If I decided to just type every word backwords, people could probably figure out what I was saying. So am I using language right? Sure, insomuch as I'm conveying a meaning.

Would I look like an idiot for not just typing it out? Yep.

People who use allcaps and spam e-breviations just sort of look like tools; they have a right to, sure, but why do it?

Incidentally, there's another thread on this topic called please learn to spell going on right now too (OP probably should've gone there).

I don't have an issue with words like wtf, omg, n00b, (when used in moderation) as much as I have an issue with people talking as if they have no knowledge of the English language (such as typing in Eubonics).

to the topic of the post, if there is a little bit in there, it's ok, but it annoys me when every other word is like "yo". I suppose there should also be a limit to how much people use words that are spelled in any form or resebelance to "L33t"(Leet, for us normal English speaking folks, who don't feel the need to be "cool" in game-chat lingo.) Cause yuh, it gets annoying.

This is very hard to understand, and he/she thinks it's cool but it's not. I don't know, but maybe it could be a joke, or a troll on whatever message board it was. But this is so moronic, not even funny at all.

i don't quite get why they would need to "grow up" by the way the type. Just let them type that way i doubt he goes "WTF!111" while speaking outside the online world, And as i said before i don't think anyone really cares about what they do or say in the online world. Which gives some the excuse to be total asses, Complete idiots, and racists children. So yeah i don't care about them neither do they care about me in anyway, therefore no point complaining.

I didn't know there was a built in spellcheck either. I still can't find it. granted it's late. I don't need it anyway, I only misspell 1 in every 3 words.
