So I was in Kazham today, leveling up my sexy-wexy bard. And I was searching for bards my level range so I can get an idea of what my invite rate was going to be.
I notice that this mithra bard was close to me, so I decided to campare equip, just curious.
It turns out she is wearing Leaping boots......WTF leaping boots why?.....WTFWTF. And it dawns on me. Dumbass people like this are why the leaping boots are so much now.
I ask her, why she is wearing the boots, and she told me just for the heck of it. And then retort, "Why don't you sell boots make buy Monster signa?"
"I don't want the -5 Vit and end up dying," she told me...



I mean Why do bards want leaping boots there is no excuse. What so ever. And even more why have leaping boots and no signa? But it doesnt end there.

So after trying to justify herself she starts to tell me to mind my own busniess, I told her that the reason has is wearing these boots during exppt upsets me... and she told me to piss off. She and her little friend start to slap me. Later on, she starts to call my MOTHER, yes my MOTHER a gil buyer....

GOD I FRIGGING HATE GIMPS.

Why do you care what she is wearing? Why do you check her? Heck, she's not even in your party.
Her wearing Leaping Boots is the result of the checking and comparing habit that most of us NA have. We care so much about our and other people's gear that one can go as far as to wear an expensive piece just to avoid the insecure feeling.

Don't Kid yourself, JP people do this more often than we do.

And I care because I hate gimps. Wearing item's that give you uneeded stats no matter the item is part of being a gimp. there is no excuse for a bard to wear leaping boots ever. Espically during an EXP session like she was.
 
BAH!!!! I can't believe you went out of your way for this Krono. The truth behind this whole story is that I was minding my own business till Krono checked me out then made it public that I was wearing Leaping Boots. He then blamed me for the sky rocket prices in AH. I have owned these boots for well over 8 months and choose to wear them becuase I can. I really dont need anyones permission to wear these and I really dont want to clutter up my mog with more equip than I really need. The boots Krono wore had only 1 more DEF and some evasion. Should I go buy these so I get his approval?? It wasnt me who was trying to justify myself. It's usually the person who has the 1 mil worth of gear on that does the justification.

Krono, I do apologize for the comments on your mother. I have never been insulted in this game till I met you, which is why I got fired up. And yes, my main is THF, which is why I own the boots. But since I dont have Brigandine +1 I may as well delete my account since I can't meet your standards.

People like you dont deserve to play FF XI cuz you spend all your time trying to bring people down. I'd hate to meet you in r/l. I won't have to worry about talking to you again though. /blist add Krono........

A brd isn't gimp without a monster signa really. I've seen BRDs in the higher levels have no problem landing any songs without it... so yeah in a way if they somehow pull hate they do take less damage. If they know what they're doing you won't notice a difference whatsoever.

The ONLY thing I see signa being something to worry about is for some BC40s

Maybe he was wearing the boots for the same reason that Bard AF has +parry skill. Just for the hell of it... :roll:

the only thing I can agree with you on, is the distaste about the rude comments towards your mother.

Really, you brought it upon yourself, so what if he/she is wearing leaping boots? I wear crap for lower lvl jobs too just because I have it and couldn't care less about the n00bs in Kazham lol.

Gear does not own the player you know.

Just mind your own business next time.
 
I wore leaping boots too on my BRD all the way to 37. Why? Why the hell not? If I ever felt like meleeling(which I didn't) I'd be able to hit. There are no boots that assist songs at all at that level. And if you're wearing some fruity evasion boots you are without a doubt having worse boots than him. BRD doesn't take hate, period, and if they did, +evasion wouldn't mean much. And I already had leaping boots.

End of story> You were looking for a reason to justify yourself as better. You were competitive and you tried to pull a weakness about your rival BRD out of your ass and make it public so people would invite you not them.

And oh yea, you're a stupid asshole.
 
ehh i see no reason in wearing leaping boots either except for the fact you would be trying to show off...

oh and if the mithra was 29

RSE boots come into mind... CHR +2 helps...
 
I know an rdm level 60 plus and mm he/she wears leaping boots often in parties but there no way i'd post a name.... although its funny cuz mm thief's need that stuff not rdms o.O (unless they solo maybe).
 
Basically put and already said - she has Leaping Boots for a different class, mainly. But if she can use them on another class, wether needed or not very, why not? This is like flaming a WHM for using their JSE boots (omfg WHM don't need 3agis!!1!1)...though the savage gaiters MAY have been more useful, she may not of had a pair on her - and don't give me that "if you can afford some 600k boots, you can afford some 40k boots" crap, cause if you had JUST enough to buy the 600k boots and did, you're not gonna magically have 40k jump out at you.
 
So I should wear a weaker boot?!......................I dont get it. Im damned if I do, and damned if I dont. Remeber, I was the one minding my own business here. I have no problem with songs not sticking. Have plenty of CHR from rings and whistle etc. Tired of ppl thinking that they have to stop a job cuz they dont have that 1 mil item or whatever. 90% of rdm and thf dont have brig +1. How do you explain that? I understand that CHR is BRD prime stat, but Im not having any problems.

The whole reason for me to level BRD is so my LS has a chance at BCNM40. I own all +1 instruments (Including Marys Horn). This is what I get for trying to do so.......someone else telling me how to equip my character.

Krono, for you to say Im missing your whole point........why didnt you tell me to ditch the elm staff and get monster signa, rather than sell my boots (that I use for my thf) to get signa? Im sure this argument wouldnt even exist if I went bootless that night. Do we assume that when someone wears good gear, they are showing off? What gives?

Kinda hijacking a bit here...

If you're doing a BCNM where the BRD tanks (such as Steamed Sprouts in Giddeus), the -last- thing you want the BRD to have is a monster signa, unless they're Galka or something and really need the CHR. Why? -VIT hurts. A lot. And since the BRD is usually taking damage very quickly when the mandies wake up, it's not hard to imagine the BRD going from full HP to 0 before the WHM can toss out a Cure 2, especially if the BRD is Taru.

Back on topic... if Azariah (as I'm assuming that's the BRD you're talking about) bought the boots for BRD and only BRD, then yes, I understand your complaining. But guess what - she probably -didn't- buy them for only BRD. Yes, I can see how hard it can be to imagine someone actually having a melee job in addition to using a BRD on the same character *gasp*. Really, aside from Mithra RSE at 29 (and since she's in Kazham I'm guessing she isn't there yet), there aren't any boots that help BRD until quite a bit later in the game. As for not selling the boots to get a signa... again, she's probably got the boots for another job, and I really doubt she wants to pay the 10k AH fee to sell the boots, then buy them again a few days later when she goes back to leveling another job that actually needs them. Plus she'll have to pay another 10k AH fee to sell the signa, and she'll have to wait for it to sell.
