Like who? the only one i can think of is that damn FF10-2, did Yuna have duals? cant remember that game was so crap

/poke. hey i liked X-2. Paine is badass. but yes she did use 2 guns when she used trigger happy.

Rangers should get "Trigger Happy" as a new job ability in the next update......

.....or as a job trait that randomly kicks in.

Would be cool.....

Damn 10-2 is really really bad >.< and 10 is no better

X > VIII and IX >.> and almost as good as FFVII and FFVI... it was well done... good character development.. interesting story.. great music.. fun battle systems.. interesting new exp system... just... no world map.. so what though? no RPG really has a World Map now-a-days... and FFX-2 had an awesome boss

WOW talk about thread hijacking! To add my 2 gil to that: VII is undoubtably the best system/story in an rpg to date. VIII comes a close second, and tied with III. IX was only good because of the classical graphics ideas but other than that was sorely lacking. X and X-2 are pretty sad excuses for a storyline, they were too short and far too linear for my liking. There were very little sidequests to do until the end when you got control of the airship but even then you could only fly to a limited number of locations and you couldn't explore. The developers left out a good 20 hours of gameplay due to the lack of a world map and the ability to add more side quests such as VII had just so SE could pound another couple million dollars out of the public by pushing for a Christmas release instead of doing a worthwhile job on the game. Not to totally bash these games as I did find the exp/battle systems creative as well. The graphics of these games is the best yet but only because of technological advances. If VII was to be remade the graphics today would be phenomenal. Ok, enough hijacking.

Dual weilding guns would merely make RNG a harder job to control hate with, more unbalanced, and imagine the delay on two guns firing, you'd get a shot off once/min probably lol. THF was, in my oppinion, supposed to be a ranged DD some of the time but got severely outclassed by the RNG to the point where most parties wouldn't even take a second glance and invite a RNG over a THF if they needed a puller. Until RNG gets Shadowbind, I think THF has a pulling advantage because of Flee in case of links. This has saved many parties in high link zones.
I say give new abilities to the jobs that need some beefing up. DRK, WAR, and MNK are very difficult to get parties in depending on the level you're at. They could use some abilities to make them a bit more attractive in the 30-55 range. I'd also like to see something to make PLD a bit more fun to play as, since, if I wanted to, could play another game while exp'ing and just hit my voke/flash/cure macros when they're ready. The only time I need to pay my full attention to a pt is when I need to Cover the BLM for some reason or another. Well enough ranting on my behalf.

I meant linear in the respect that it walks you through the game really, the previous ff games allowed for more side-story and more side quests that adjusted the storyline someway or another. VII for example had the little side quests like dressing Cloud up like a girl a certain way, or going on a date with either Aeris, Tifa, Yuffie, or BARRET (I've seen all four, very nice). X just walked you through the game and you had almost no choice but to keep going event after event with little/no exploring involved.

*BUZZZZZ* wrong.

granted, the first part of the game is rather linear, but once you have acces to the airship, the game blows wide open.

and you want Non-linear? play X-2. thats the most non-linear game ive ever played that was still cool.

I don't care if you think FFX is better than FFVIII or FFIX, but you can't state that it's better than both in the same sentance. That makes it sound like FFIX is on the same level of sh-!ttiness as FFVIII, and FFIX doesn't deserve that.

By the way Lufia II, Super Metroid, FFVI, Evolution, Tales of Symphonia, Thousand Arms, and Lunar all have better storylines than FFVII, so NYAH.

*Marajade starts casting Knights of the Round on Mishaela*

The coolest part about VII is still Sephy. I mean, he is the most EVIL bad dude ive seen in a game to date.

and i agree, many things are better than FF VIII. when the game is over at the first boss, its rather crappy.

FF-VII would dominate the market if re-done with today's graphical capabilities. As for FFX, It was alright, not as apleasing as VI or VII but still, in my eyes, better than VIII and Vastly greater than IX. Now, on to X-2, I found the battle system very interesting and enjoyable and the characters to be more tolerable then likeable (This excludes Pain and Chipal), but still an enjoyable game.

Back to why this thread was made. Rng + New ability = Hell NO!!
The last thing Rng's need is to Mob-Bash harder then they already do.
Though if that ever did happen I'd never wanna hear a "I blame the Tank or Mage for my Death" orriented comment from any of them. They wanna go gun hoe then they can be gunned down.

Just to think i started all this FF talk

Well if all other DD jobs got a offensive buff to get at or near rng's current level, I wouldn't be against a buff. And no tank buffs for hate either, that's be thieves' buff :D .

Back to past FFs. I really don't find a point in debating stuff not rooted in fact but opinion. So I'd very much like to share my opinion, but it's really not up for debate. For those that do have farorites, I think that's cool and gives us divorsity(sp?). If everyone liked Y FF, it'd be pretty damn lame. But I'd have a really hard time picking a favorite FF because I don't play them for one specfic reason, but several and each game really fullfills different things.

FF1-started it all, a small job in job progression.

FF4-Classic game, good vs bad, each character brought something new to the game and they were all rememberable. I didn't mind being forced to use certain characters either, good game for the classic aspects.

FF5-Another classic type game. Not alot of character put forth into the playable characters but the many many jobs they could play was very fun. I believe this game had a SJ system also, but nothing like that of FFXI. Very very very hard final boss( Neo X-death ) if you DID NOT take time to xp on the side. I remember finishing this game at 39-40 it he was a damn bitch to kill. Rememberable moment- I was going to die in one more turn, got to fire off another attack and won.

FFVI- I honestly haven't beat it but would like to. I guess this is my badge of shame.

FFVII- Start seeing indepth characters, awsome cutscenes, classic bad guy, long indepth story. Sepihorth in evilness is overrated, sep had reasons for what he was doing. Then there was Hojo, the insane bastard knew he was an evil **** but did it anyway, heck Hojo choose to inject himself with Jenova cells. For the hell of it my 3 favorite playable characters. Tifa, barret, cid.

FFVIII-Too boring for me, I quit at disc I. Draw system, avatars tanking, uhhhh.

FFIX- Original story, it's a 'fantasy', not some real life wanna-be place. Return of 4 playable characters at once. Also a cool ability system for learning new stuff. Absolutely awsome cutscenes too.

FFX- Well done avatars, good cutscenes, sin gave alot of depth to the story. Final battle was really really cool, it was very well done with music new to the world of FF.

I didn't mind the straightforwardness of FFX at all, I play FFX to progress through the game well enjoying good cutscenes, music, and story or experiencing it all again. I really don't find leveling to 99 and killing everything in one hit that exciting. Maybe if FFs gave more story and cutscenes for doing these side bosses/missions there would be some insentive to do it. But beating something with your lvl 99 character to get some ultimate item you no longer need? It's like leveling to 75 in this game for no reason.

I'm about to beat FFVII for the 5th time, I'm right before sepy and I bypassed extras. No quadra magic, no KotR, none of that cheap crap. Fear of losing is <Fun>...But who am I kidding, it's impossible to die in this game with a billion leftover megaelixers you don't even need in this game. After that I'm going to play the 4,5,9 again, and one day finish 6 or maybe throw it in there somewhere between 4,5,9.
