I'm a big C&C nut, I still enjoy playing C&C: Renegade online cause I've yet to see a FPS like that online where you are destroying each others bases and such with vehicle fun. So when I heard about Tiberium I have hopes that the C&C universe in FPS view + RTS feel would be held. I am not entirely sure how it'll be yet but so far it at least looks like it'll be a fun FPS :P

I was watching a preview for this on GameHead, looks sweet. The fact that they're trying to seperate it from the C&C storyline but keep it within the same universe could open up shitloads of opportunities for future releases.

We'll see once alpha day arrives... Daikatana had me interested for similar reasons, and look at the shitpile that came out as.

hehe, I thought it was at first taking place after C&C 3 :P since they said in something I read or watched that it was taking place after those aliens left but they left a BIG pillar thing that is important in this game.

Personally I really want to see the online play to be similar to C&C play. I want so badly to use vehicles, organize assaults, destroy entire bases :3 I <3 RTS/FPS

Yeah if this looked and felt like Battlefield with a story and more FPS-y objectives, that would own. Then again that could be said for most games.

I didn't really click with the way C&C3 played. I've had a hardon for almost every C&C title since #1 and played most, and I gotta say C&C3 was way too 'EA' and not enough 'Westwood'. The toys were all cool as shit, but they didn't grant the same blessing to the interface and environment.

They have a good opportunity for a groundbreaker here, let's hope it doesn't get to their heads.

C&C: Generals was crap :(

C&C 3 I haven't played much but it looks fun but I agree doesn't seem "westwood". I miss Westwood so much.. they made quality games until EA fucked it all up.

The reason C&C3 disappointed me so much wasn't because the game itself was a letdown, but because EA actually made a legitimate attempt to go back to the roots of the series... and pretty much failed. The biggest claim the game had was Joe Kucan.

I joked about how it should be "Command & Conquer 3: HEY, WE GOT KANE BACK!", and every day, EA proves me right. Limited "Kane Edition" version of C&C3, and the expansion will be called "Kane's Wrath"...

tl;dr: I want to have hope for this. I'm in the same boat as Cmdr, having a hardon for every title since I played the first... I loved Renegade, despite the horrible engine it ran on... I just can't bring myself to be optimistic here, sadly.

I didn't even know Renegade2 existed. I skipped Renegade and Generals, then picked the series back up at C&C3. Were there more titles in between RA2:YR and C&C3?

since when was there a Renegade 2? O.O I have been a Renegade nut since it came out cause it's so unique and fun for online :P (Name another game that's FPS/RTS like that XD I can't think of any). I surely woulda known about Renegade 2 >.>

Edit: from reading online, Renegade 2 was never made but it was proposed and in development but then when Westwood completely disappeared (FUCK YOU EA!!!) it went too :(
