I was once told that if you're 11 levels higher then the cap of an item, you have a 10% more chance to HQ that item. Do you believe that's true?

I follow this:
Level over cap vs. item cap:

# 0-10 results on average a 1-2% HQ rate over time
# 11-30 results on average up to 10% HQ rate over time
# 31-50 results on average up to 25%-30% HQ rate over time
# 51+ results on average up to 50% HQ rate over time

What do you think? I'm trying to maximize my Hqing as much as possible obviously and with a skill of 106 counting day, direction and synthesis support to it doing meat mithkabobs, the averages worked out about right.

Yeah those numbers look about right. That's close to what I get making bolts.

Are there any numbers for HQ2s? I've found my HQ2 rate to be generally half of my HQ rate...

tier 0, 1/64
tier 1, 1/16
tier 2, 1/4

There should be a little star next to those, with the disclaimer...

* If this is the last of your gil, you will critically fail. Every time.

I have my spreadsheets elsewhere, but I think my t0 rate was about 1/35 and my t1 rate was about 1/22. This is over thousands of synths.

Funny that after all these years noone can figure out the formula for crafting, the people who do the crafting over watch at SE should be sent to the pentagon to guard secrets
