Ok, today I installed the Brandson UI 1.0 pack. Being the jackass that i am, i didnt backup the files it replaced. I read that there is a problem with the pack involving the /tell chime thing. I log on, it works, but naturally once i get past character selection, it crashes.

I know next-to-nothing about .dats and alll that fancy jazz, soooo what im askin is...in the easiest terms ever, how do i fix myself?
 
I know my comic font pack got removed with the monday update, and that it presumably didn't work due to the JEGF of the search screen, maybe something similar happened with the UI pack?

The only way to fix it yourself is to completely reinstall FFXI, but if you know the files, someone can copy their files and put them up on rapidshare or something.
 
Ok I know after the last big update (not today's) he had to patch his fonts up to work. I got the problem you have now. The patched versions were up 18th December, so not long after the update, if you're using them I have no idea what's wrong :(

No UI, but at least i can play again.

Im pretty sure, but i might try again tomorrow. Its not that big of a deal.
 
you still have the pack, right? If it isnt self installing, and you gotta do it manually (idk, I dont download them) then just get the .dat numbers from them, and ask someone to send you their original .dat's.
