Tiny Gripe:

Know what's really fun? Getting an invite, rushing over to the exp spot hearing the guy say "could you wait 30 minutes maybe?"
 
I've noticed over the last couple of weeks an increasingly high number of people seeking are AFK. I haven't even been in the game for a year, so I have to ask, was this always the case or is this a new trend?
 
Invest in a DS. It's a great way to kill the time at your PC/whatever while seeking so you don't have to wander off for entertainment.

It was always the case, when you've been looking for a party for an hour or more, you're going to do something else while you're looking for group.

If I switch between Nin and Whm every 10 minutes then I'm not going to gear up every time. Joining a party and getting out... it's pretty standard that we'll spend a few minutes in town. Admittedly if I spent the entire time seeking, attentive at the keyboard, switching gear for a couple hours while I seeked... then I'd shave 2 minutes off my own downtime... to potentially sit in camp waiting... but I will officially say that I won't do it.

I won't switch gear every 10 minutes, take seek up and down constantly just so we can be out of the gate instantly.
Instead I'll stay for a fair chunk of time and rarely needto go afk.

Feel free to avoid me.

Yeah, I'll just sit by my computer waiting for Japanese players to NOT invite me. That's how I want to spend my Friday evenings. :P

Ok well if thats ALL that you think is gona happen then why seek at all? Ya that was just kind of a dumb thing to say, sry.

And skaw im not talkin about going to the bathroom or scrounging for some food for 2 min. Im talkin about people who seek and go afk for 10, 20, 30 min, people i still see seaking after iv already been partying for an hour. Thats just stupid.

Because occasionally (rarely) I'll run into:

1) A jp player smart enough to figure out that if a person has played their job to 75, they MIGHT know what they're doing.

2) A jp player smart enough to understand that "nihongo wakarimasu" in my search comment means "I understand Japanese"

3) A jp player desperate enough to invite me

or, my favorite

4) Getting invited right away as soon as the NA's start waking up.

But really, I don't even need to party anymore. I just head out to caed[tab]mire and can easily solo 6k exp per hour on those imps. I will be dinging 75 a few hours after I get home tonight. When I'm out there soloing, I always put my flag up just in case, but I already know in the back of my mind that it probably won't get me a spot in a party.

Which is why I really don't mind snagging imps around these meripo parties.
 
Twice in the last 3 days, ive been farming as /thf. I have gotten invites, and forgot to change my sub.

I second this. DS is money well spent and you get to buy other FF remakes AND FF3 for DS.

Well I agree with the whole equipment thing...

But sometimes I won't buy ammunition until the party is full...so I'm not wasting money...

But what does piss me off...

is when you invite someone to the party...and they go afk for 20 minutes >.>

I honestly don't understand it.
 
You know what's a pain in the ass? Getting invites while you're taking a shit. I can hear the little beep from my computer but can't get up.

I do say, it's dick when they do more than gear up when the party is about to start. Like you get everyone and then someone says, "time for lunch! give me 20 minutes!" Or when they have to afk 10-20 mins after 5 mins of party.
 
I used to like to take my mule out to the dunes as level 14 WHM and seek while I slept. Good times.

I find if I turn my music and sound effects all the way down, and crank my sound level way up, I can hear the /tell bleep from practically anywhere in the apartment, without the annoying furnace sounds in the mog-house. Of course, there's always the random friend who gets my hopes up with some random question. >_<
