It was the sideboob that sold me on purple tank-top April.

I never realized the entire movie is so Incredibles-style. I saw a couple previews but they showed only the ninjar turtles which look pretty good compared to their RL non-existant counterparts.

Not to knock the animation, I'm sure it's well done just as recent CGI movies have been. Just surprised.

I like that 'exaggerated' style. The big guys have big limbs and big hands, the little ones have really slender limbs and hands. The huge eyes and chins, etc. It did remind me a lot of the Incredibles, but I like that style.

im surprised no one but rom knows truly why these differences exist.
The turtles show we grew up with was NOT the correct way the turtles were meant to be represented.
The original comics that the show was based on is pretty much better represented in the current series/movie.

The 80's series was doctored up to be more kid friendly.
Splinter was not a man mutated into a rat, he was a rat mutated into...a ninja rat. april was a ninja and not a reporter and all that good stuff. Originally all of the turtles had red bandannas.
Leonardo alone decapitated shredder early on in the series. karai, whom is in the new movie as the leader of the foot, was more of a long lasting villain than shredder was.

but the kid-friendly show is what a lot of us remember. I have never once read a single comic, which is why Im oblivious to the "original concept" lol. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say this, as well. Im just not a comic person.

yeh im just saying, this is the way turtles was meant to be. The original creators finally got the rights back and are doing it the right way now, tho they dont control the original series rights at all.

Heh.. you thought the change from old April to 'new' April was weird... The new TMNT shouldn't be compared to the one of old. They don't have anything in common really besides the names of the characters. Example being the April 'we' knew was a channel 6 reporter... while the new generation's April is.. welll... ya... Also.. The old generation's Baxter Stockman was a scientist who was turned into a fly. In the New generation.. he's a BLACK scientist who lost his body in some kinda accident and his know in a cyborg body... so... ya... there ya have it...

Based on what chasym said.. this new school of turtles is the more 'correct' version. I forgot all about karai until i remembered playing TMNT 5 long ago and she was the secret character along with the Rat King.. .^^;

i would like to be a ninja like the turtles, I had all the action figures, and I found the van one day, but my turtles had been dissasemled in a 4th of july accident, and my GI joes too, stormshadow!!!!

Mako was a great choice for the voice of Splinter, the same way he was a great voice for Uncle Iroh in Avatar: The Last Airbender and the narrator for The Mark of Kri. That old dude had a great voice.

Off-topic :Its sad that Mako passed away. He is a great voice actor.

I saw this movie on tuesday, it was awesome. Totally brought back all the nostalgia of when I was a kid watching the Turtles. Anyone notice how they actually did incorperate (atleast from what I saw) a little of the first two (live action) movies into the end, with the shelf. I could clearly see the 'ooze' containers, and the Super Shredder helmet.

I brought my youngest brother with me and was happy that even he enjoyed the movie and thought it was cool. It sort of felt like, well.. more of a elongated episode of TMNT rather than a movie, but it was good. Plus, I love Patrick Stewart, the man's in everything that wins.

Haha yeah I used to have a massive collection of action figures for the turtles. Somehow they ended up going missing and some even ended up in the backyard buried with their heads sticking out. There were also limbs laying around from where they got chopped with the lawn mower. I miss my collection. Now my huge collection is down to bare minimum.
 
This movie is the real TMNT III. That other one was just a big inside joke.
 
I didn't mind the orginial III to much. Yeah its my least favorite amongst the series but I still kind of liked it.
 
I like the turtle with the nunchucks hehe. I have the 2 old TMNT movies on VHS!! LOL I used to watch it all the time..with the ooze good stuff. But my brothers were more TMNT fanatics than I was.
