To all Canadiens out there

Damn, is every sport in Canada a fucking pansy-fest?

Next thing you'll be telling me that you also celebrate the National Canuck Polo Team D:

Let? Sounds like a Stevens scuffle. "You win! Dont hurt me!"

/runs away

I'm sure Lindros would beg to differ since he probably still can't spell his own name right since that incident in 2000.

You're assuming the big dumb bastard ever knew how to spell his own name.

National Sports of Canada Act

CHAPTER N-16.7 (1994, c. 16)

[N-16.7]

An Act to recognize hockey and lacrosse as the national sports of Canada

[Assented to 12th May, 1994]

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

SHORT TITLE

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the National Sports of Canada Act.

NATIONAL SPORTS OF CANADA

Hockey and lacrosse to be national sports

2. The game commonly known as ice hockey is hereby recognized and declared to be the national winter sport of Canada and the game commonly known as lacrosse is hereby recognized and declared to be the national summer sport of Canada

And here I always thought curling was the national sport of Canada. Man we sure learn something new everyday.

And boy are those ice dusters pissed they aren't an official sport.

Here is why I hate hockey...not even my closest ingame friends know this!

I grew up playing hockey (in northern wisconsin). When I grew up, the closest team to me was the Minnesota North Stars. When the North Stars moved to DALLAS of all places, and changed their name to the Stars, I gave up all hope on hockey.

Yes the marketing would probably sell more tickets in the Dallas area...but Hockey is a northern sport, and belongs in the north. Selling out to the south pissed me off mightily.

The end /grabs kleenex

Amen, brother.

Hockey is actually a Minnesota sport. Hell, my high school team could probably beat the canadian pro teams.

I have three words for everyone here...

RED WINGS ROCK!

Its sad that the 'Burgh is widely regarded as a Football town, because I love the Pens more than any other team in any other league. I'm 23, so when I was growing up Lemieux, Jagr, and Francis were winning cups while the Steelers were getting booted in the first round every year. Playoff Hockey is far and away the most exciting sport to watch, and it only gets better.

Still, its been 10 years since Pittsburgh has been a legitimate contender, so I feel I have every right to be excited as hell :P
lol when i was growing up it was bernie parent bobbie clarke bob kelly the barber bro's the broad street bullies i remember our cups in 74-75 alas noo hat trick in 76 though. hockey at it finest very few wore helmets. the goalie had a thin mask. lol none had front teeth lol

I'm originally from Philly... so I'm used to losing and have actually come to expect it. The fact that all 4 major teams are doing so well recently has me beaming for heightened falls of disappointment.

But for now; Philly is taking out the country of Canada's last hope.

-Edit:

Lacrosse is more an east coast thing in the states; it's not a national game really. It's getting there though. More importantly, Accept your defeat Ms. long legs
imo opinion the hardest thing in proffesional sports is being a philly sports fan oh the heart aches over the years T.T

OMG! I thought that was Lebda for some reason but it is Maltby! Osgood and Lebda were next to each other signing autographs and this picture was right after I took some pics with Osgood so I thought it was him. Duh me. /slaps forehead

And the best part about this series Skreb? The team that beat us and prevented us from the hat trick of cups in the 70's was those bastard Montreal Canadians. We haven't met in the playoffs since 89 and they won then. God damnit, it's payback time XD
