Ever meet some one who you think is your friend? You hang out for a while, help each other out and what-not, over all have a good time. Then one day you just stop hearing from them, or maybe you change LSs, and they stop talking to you. Hell, maybe they're just done using your help.
Well, too all the people I've known who's just left w/o a word, or stopped talking to me for no reason, when I thought we were friends: fuck you. Plain and simple, fuck you.

- .- seen it, done it and i'd do it all over again..

Fuck your gay sig pic I say, any THF should have a screenie like Drac's killing Argus and getting the amulet, Sozuu and the knife or defeating LoO and getting a Kraken.

Showing damage on lame ass gods is gay for a THF.

Fuck that.

Unrelated to FFXI, but putting things in perspective:

Years ago I was running a professional development training company.
I was doing good (good enough to play EQ full time, lol), word got around, and through the right channels I landed a contract to train folks in Russia. One year contract, big bucks. Obviously I made some friends over there, and one of my best friends at the time send his two teenage daugthers over here to hang out for a few weeks.

Shortly after they left I get a call from my Russian contract partner, saying that they are dropping the contract because they have found someone locally who will do it for less.

My best friends daughters had copied my entire training materials, both the stuff I had as hardcopy, and digital copies. They copied my customer database backup, and gave it all to daddy, who turned around and made the business for himself.

Sure, I could have sued for breach of contract, but in reality sueing a Russian company in U.S. court is a waste of time (and more importantly money), unless they have U.S. holdings.

Instead I let the two people who worked for me go, got of my ass and started gainful employment again.

Lesson learned? Trust no one! And this does apply to FFXI as well.
Other lesson I learned, keep even non-sensitive material locked up as if it is SCI.

Wow...that blows man. I know a friend who would've had all three of them killed in less than a week if that happened to him. He's kinda crazy. Literally.

But yea, I've had people do the same to me, basically always asking for favors or PLs and when I say I'm busy, they get bitchy and stop talking to me.

Is that supposed to make me feel sad? Hmmm, no. Just move on and remember who the real friends are...if you have any, lol.

Like this?

And fyi, you mean a THF killing LoO and a DRK getting the Kraken.

Sorry you feel that way about it Devi.

I have you on my list and we only talk when we actually encounter one another. I think i contact you as much as you contact me, and if i'm gone for for a long time i don't think you would even care about it.

And if you never included me in your non spesified post, then same on me.

See you around dude.

I'm sorry you see things this way Devi.....It's really hard to keep hold of long distance relationships, especially over the internet. I don't ask for very much from people, simply because it's so easy to be let down. The friends I have made, sure they don't talk to me everyday.........It's not who talks to you everyday that matters.........It's who remembers who you are, everyday. There are only a handfull of people like that, this game being online makes that very hard.

I remember back in Ronfaure when I was lvling up War.....or Mnk.....can't quite remember.

Before I even knew what a NM was. Before I had a sub-job.

Aky (the ninja) was telling me they were hunting a monster to make some money...Jaggedy Eared Jack was the name.

That was the first time I heard about an NM.

Now you know what's cool?

I never really talked with them very much, we would only run into each other every now and then.........Shoot the breeze a little and be off on our own.

2 years later............

Welcome to the selfish world! Sad fact of the matter is that people befriend you usually to get somthing. real friends stick around even when times are tough.

Hmmm, Devi...It's all about the people you meet as well.

I was in Temple of Uggalepih a couple months ago, farming Flauros....

I tarutaru whm comes to me and asks if I could help them fight Death From Above.

They need the Hornets Needle. It was their first try at popping it....So we popped it and I killed it for them while they cured me. Dagger dropped on the first try, that made me pretty happy that I could help.

I've done this so many times for people, help them and not hear another word from them again.

Well this is one cool Tarutaru, a good guy.

Ompalumpa and I talk nearly everyday...We're not in the same LS and he doesn't have a high level job.

There are a lot of useless rocks out there that are easy to find. It's the diamonds in the rough that are hard to find.

It's all about the people you meet, but more importantly - the people who you remember - and the people who remember you.

sorry to hear that devi. I too have dealt with this before. One person I stopped talking to because of her selfishness actually apologized and we became friends again for maybe 2 seconds, until she reverted back to being selfish (got burned.. this happened after I took her on the DM run with me). My fault for being gullilbe. You give people chances and they continue to dissappoint.

D: I have no friends on this games. Only sex toys ((` A`);

kidding . _.; sorta..

I know how you feel Devi..I've met alot of people on our server who were very good friends..that is until they had all their AF gear or hit level 71 and no longer felt they needed anything from me. It seems to be the way of things these days and it's sad that a game I've spent so much time and effort on his gotten to this point. But there's always going to be some true friends who stick by you Devi...so keep them foremost in your mind and the hell with the false friends.
