Ok here goesm
I'm sitting here stoned before you today wondering in my head if others feel the same returning. After taking a long break and returning have any of you ever had sort of a change of heart about ffxi? Returned to some of the things you'd forgotten or just played for a whole different reason than before.

Like for me now. Its very interesting, I don't play to really be the best anymore. I rather make fun out of everything, and whoah get out a bit in rl? K that's been a stoned mo,ent for me don't really know where else I was going with this so....

hehe. yea, everytime i quit, its because i dont feel like farmin, and i get low on funds... lol. i end up comin back, suckin it up, and farmin for 2 - 3 weeks straight.. lol. butnow im just playin to chat wit some cool people i met (PheonixPimps, CrimsonPirates) but yea, anyways...

Naw, when I came back it was because I didn't mind spending the 15 bucks a month to spend time with friends online. I played with 8 RL friends, and made a lot of friends in game that I would love to hang out with RL. I still only play video games maybe 6-10 hours a week, if that, on average. I don't play to be the best on a game that's mechanics create such parity within itself. It comes down to a players timing, gear, and what they're willing to put into the game. In the end, the person who gets the better game experience is the person who just wants to do things in the game with their friends. That's far better then grinding for the most "leet" gear

I've taken breaks from this game quite a few times. Each time I reinstall the game and log into Jeuno, I wonder why I bothered cuz' I'm bored to tears after just a few minutes. I've been level 74 for like 6 months, lol. If I ever hit 75 I think I'm done with this game for good.
 
I quit because of financial issues. I've never had a problem with the net/games interfering with my personal life. I'm coming back because the MMO (not really an MMO...but yeah) I bought a month ago (PSU) isn't as good as it was made out to be. I also tend to leave games where I don't have a group of people I know actively playing it with me. This go around I have 3 or 4 people who are going to start on the same day I do, so it should be fun. For change of heart, I guess the fact I have people who are going to be playing with me means more to me than maxing a job out.

you idiots missed the main point of the post. you focused to much on that i was high and not about the question. i stated i was high because it isn't something people normally openly think about when sober.
 
I've thought about what you are asking, not stoned either.

I quit FFXI and was all emo-sad about it because of all the time I put into my account, I came back all pumped to start up again, the game sucked still and was boring, I play very rarely and occassionly now just to talk to friends.
 
The only thing that makes sense in ur post is that you are high.Smoke causes lung cancer and it's not fun !

If you were stoned, you wouldn't care about who is cool or not. :)

I'd say honestly unless you have close friends you've made ingame or know irl dont come back, it wont be the same as "the old days"

there is always the chance you make more but i find that a very slim chance

think about this when you arent stoned and if you think that it'll happen then come on back, either way best of luck

It's all about the friends and comaderie that exists. There are a ton of other games that have better graphics, may have a better storyline, etc. I like the opportunity to do things with friends even if i've done them before. If you have to sit and ponder why you play this game, perhaps you shouldn't.
 
Have you ever played FFXI, on weed?
