lol we did that with an 18 member alliance of early 30s...it was cake...

well cept for the dolls that went boom and wiped us out... oh bless you Syrup where ever you are... he got us raised and we finished out...

well its hard to get that many ppl lol haha...but ye does any1 know if dolls drop anything good...i heared they did..if so ill camp em

Kert, lvl 45 in good gear i will be soloing the rank 4 mission. there are these things called hi potions, x potions, and other things of that nature, with which you can drastically increase your survivability in a 1 shot fight of that nature.

Why would i solo that you might ask? well, i kept missing all the LS trips due to a nasty work schedule, and now all my ls friends are lvl 65+, and getting them to help me would basically be like having someone solo it for me.
That is not my idea of fun
Sadly this is not a predominant virtue as of late, and one of the main reasons ive resolved to solo this is because the few times ive tried to organise a trip with strangers in lvl 30-35ish, they kept begging lvl 75 JPN to help. >< Now i love Blower as much as the next guy, and Screwage is like the James Dean of Jueno, but how much of an accomplishment is it to sit on your ass and watch a 75 whatever pummel the crap out of an NM thats supposed to be a hell of a good knock-down-drag-out drain-MP-and-chug-those-yag-drinks-2hr-usin fight?

But thats just me, and call me crazy, but id rather do things the right way, and have fun doing it, and be challenged, and have to Depend on my Grp members to survive, and actually EARN my rank.

you know i saw a rank 6 the other day whos highest job lvl was 18 mnk? he had his hi lvl ls friends help him, and he was the most impatient, arrogant, incompetent person ive met ingame. Hi lvl hand holding is worse than Power lvling to me, but it puts me in a weird spot.... all my close friends and ls mates, the ppl i started with, are all closing in on lvl 70, or are 75 already and working up other jobs, so if i ask them to help with say, af, i may just feel like im getting hand-held.......

But till that arises, ill solo what i can ^^

*people *anyone *lol+hahaha = repetition *yeah *heared *them

Are you English ? Your name is hard to Judge ... but anywho, im a Europlayer and sometimes the Spelling really kills me .... I can't even imagine how all those poor Americans that have been through High School feel about this issue ...

i agree with you 100 percent...i like to do things too...not get rushed..like in diablo 2 ppl get rushed throughthe whole game in like 1 hour...i like to do work...not just get rushed...but rank 4 was a bitch to get..i dont think id be able to do it....its pretty tough....yeah lol the lvl 60 rdm casted invisible and sneak on us the whole time..i feel like i missed out..at level 50 im going to go fight that NM so i can feel better about this

i know this topic has strayed a bit it from its origins, so please allow me to backtrack:

it was stated earlier that keits and naff take the game seriously.

yes they do, and at the same time to those who are willing to pull their heads out of their asses long enough to listen to what they have to say, will learn alot. i had the pleasure of pt'ing with keits for a few hours a while back in qufim, and learned alot from the wisdom he was so desperately trying to impart on the noob's in our party. (if memory serves me right, he was trying to inform this guy on the downs of using a polearm as a warrior? correct me if im wrong keits)

naff shows up just as this guy disbanded from our party because he was pissed at keits for offering advice. naff joined in on the polearm issue and it was all out from there.

what alot of noobs dont understand is this; if an experienced player is in your pt lvl'ing another job, listen to what he has to say. keits might not be
the nicest guy in his delivery of info, but he doesnt have to be. this is not a niceness contest and higher lvl players get frustrated quickly when they
die continously at the hands of noobs who wont listen, and take offense to advice.

keits or naff mean no ill will against anyone who is NOT a self absorbed moron, they just like to occasionaly take pleasure in pummeling those who insist on being stupid ^^

I love the word pummeling :D Everyone should use it at least three times a day

-Ham

well for the WAR using a pole-arm, my friend used Pole-arm as WAR so when he got DRG, he would have it maxed out already and blah, but thats the only reason for a WAR to use a pole-arm, otherwise, nah...i like Great Axe..big...shiny...axe...slam..on...goblin...heads...

War is usually a meat shield. Which means you want them to block. Which means you want them to use a 1 handed sword and or axe combo with a shield. Which is why.. Polearm = bad, for meat shield. If you're a secondary voker its fine, but as a main tank, using a polearm is completely preposterous! HAHA.

Good summary.

WAR with a Polearm isnt terrible, per say... but when tanking... I'll put it this way; The only job that should ever consider tanking with a 2h weapon is Samurai.

So not only was this WAR, our main tank, losing out on a chance to block and a few DEF, but he wasnt even using his A weapons (Axe or G.Axe).

Why level a skill for another job? Its not like your going to start DRG and have trouble keeping Polearm maxed. Why gimp your current main job, even if you intend to switch?

I was perfectly nice about it with this guy; offering that when tanking is his duty, that he would be better off with a 1h/shield combo. The reaction was typical;

"IM Going to be a DRG!"

The reply: "Thats great, but you arnt one yet."

"Ohh everybody bow down to keits! He knows everything because he has another job leveled!"

This leads into a /shout fight, in which a member or two a BigFun (no offense Runekane) jump in to attack Naff and I.

How dare I offer my experience to someone else, and then become upset when I'm cursed at about it. Damn me.

make a new character

send the 5 tarruts to my character Kert
delete 2nd character
sell tarruts 15K each on Kert

actually, and i may be mistaken, maybe they changed the way the cards work, but last time i checked the cards were: tradeable, bazaarable, but Not mailable.
so um. no soup for you.

Good input Keits, though you really sound overcritical at times. I always get the impression that if I don't go Axe+Shield instead of Axe+Axe on a WAR/NIN, you'd hunt me down to the edges of Vana'diel and get a Goblin to make "friends" with me. :P

actually to get the cards you need a little more fame than a lv.1 character posesses.

So getting a lv.1 char to jeuno won't do much of anything for you.

and as for low levels hiking to Jeuno and past, by level 12 Sabia, myself and one other LSmate who doesn't post on this board had seen a good chunk of the world by walking, no escort needed.

Kert -

I am sure that you are a very nice person, but you sound kinda like a crybaby....

Why don't you just suck it up and go farming, and not worry about what other people think?! It's a game, damnit!!! :)

That being said - good luck!

*Much Love*,
Jender
