To return or not to return...

Hello everyone,

I don't know if anyone on these boards will remember me, but i played Cyprus a 75 WHM.

I'm considering coming back to the game, but want to know if its worth it. I have sky, but not sea (on 4-2 iirc), dabbled a bit in ToAU missions, and barely touched WoTG. Am I way behind the norm? Will I be even considered for end-game LSs? Is there anything new that I might not have even tried yet?

With Level-Sync, Fields of Valor and such, FFXI has been opening a lot of doors to keep things interesting. This will also make it easier to finish Sea, which will be a must for end-game these days. While you can get shells who don't do sea or atleast not focus on it, a good amount of shells do in fact make in mandatory now.

just come back and decide for yourself. the game isn't as fun as it used to be, tho I play only on a buddy's accn now so I dno... you'll need sea to do any endgame ls stuff for sure.

SE has kept it relatively interesting..give it a shot u have nothing to lose. I'd still play if my accnt didn't get banned lol

This is a bold-faced lie. There are a plethora of things you can do that don't involve sea access at all. Assault, Salvage, Einherjar, Sky, and Nyzul offer tons of gear/drops/whatever that many people lust for, and have nothing to do with Sea. Sure, some multi-focused groups will require sea access, but don't think that just because you don't have it you can't participate in a number of other activities that will benefit you and reward you in the end. But if you choose to take your advice from someone who types like a third grader with Down's syndrome, be my guest.

Dynamis/ZNM/SCNM are all good fun too (the last requires WotG)

Edit: calling dynamis fun is a bold faced lie, but it's an event that doesn't need sea access!

Although honestly, with a competent group of people you can easily get through CoP in a week or 2.

Also, Dynamis is as fun as smashing my pecker in a car door, but yeah, add it to the list.

sea access is cake now, and even back in the day when I got it, it wasn't that bad.

discouraging someone from gaining sea access is a total nub thing to say. Its not all that hard, and honestly, sea is pretty fucking awesome.

i wouldnt bother coming back unless you plan on finishing CoP up. its well worth it, contrary to what people who have been sadly trying to attain it for 4 years may say.

Its not that sea is required. Having sea access used to show that a player was competent. I only say used to because morons can get sea in 2 weeks now. But there are several things to do outside of sea that are enjoyable. Also most people don't want to play whm anymore for some reason so several shells are actually looking for whms.

I'm not discouraging anyone from getting it. Get it, I'm sure it's great, and the missions can be a lot of fun; but saying that you "need" Sea to participate in "any" endgame activity is absurd.

I have to agree~ I have sea but do not even do any sea NM's. I just started Limbus. There are so many different endgame events you can do. Some you can do with as few as 6 people. The newer events tend to use up a lot less of your game time. So you are not sitting for 5 hours waiting...and waiting....and waiting for a HNM to pop. Nor are you farming for HOURS ON END <sea/sky> to get your pop items. Then having to kill the god/NM and hoping they drop what everyone was after. Some events are as short as 30 minutes and are very fast paced requiring the whole group to perform at their peak. Some require tactics to get the full potential drops from. So you can get very good gear even if you have limited game play time avalible. I am not sure if they added Nyzul Island to their list~ but that is 3-6 people 30 min per tag, and you get 7 tags per week.

I know in my sky shell we run into a lack of rdms and whms. Everyone rather go as a DD job.

I guess I make too many assumptions...top lss do a lot of sea related stuff nowadays..so I would encourage anyone coming back to get sea access.

for me if I were to make a new accnt an start over...I'd get sea access again for sure..that's just me I suppose.

I am eternally bored of limbus dynamis and sky tbh..

to be brutally honest...I wouldn't bother coming back unless you have some too friends to play with...that's what the game is really about at this point. well that and whiping to AV
