To the WHMs: Does Raise II make you 'popular'?

I'm now in the 50s when people start wanting Raise II, but right now I can only offer Raise I. It used to be I would find a body and raise. Now I feel compelled to ask if they want raise or would rather wait for Raise II. It's strange having to stop myself from automatically doing my job, although in two more levels it'll be a moot point.

I've been joking with Neyla about becoming a Raise II bitch when that happens. I have a feeling I'm going to be traveling all over Vana'diel for linkshell members and friends, which is fine because its one of the reasons I like being a white mage in the first place.

But my question for the other 56+ WHMs is: Does that happen? Plenty of people have Raise, but not nearly as many have Raise II. Do you get called to travel all over? What am I in for?

You'll get asked to R2 people if you're in the area sometimes. That's far more common than getting called across the world, someone dies in a party next to yours or something.

Most of the time, if you're asked to R2 someone a couple zones away, it's a friend, and LS member, or someone offering a reward asking you to come. I've been asked to teleport more than raise. It's not like you won't get anything done with all the requests, since they're not that common.

I'm rarely asked for a Raise (maybe one or two times while farming for coffer keys). I sometimes get a rescue call or asked for a teleport from LS peeps (but after one failed attempt in Castle Zvahl, I'm not sure they'll ask again >_<).
Yesterday I got asked to raise WSM in garlaige but I was afk in Jeuno and he had HP before I came back

Well, Raise II wont make you popular... Raise III will. ^^

But seriously, being a WHM since i started and all (im lvl 72 almost 73 now), i can tell you straight out that what makes you popular is your desire to help your fellow adventurer.
Be it Raise I, II or III what good is having Raise Spells if we ain't gonna use them? Always help when you can and you will see the results fast, like i did.

Remember too that you can't please everyone. Some time you will be on your 2k gil Chocobo running thru Valkurn to finish *insert long azz quest here* and someone will send you a /tell or you will see /shout
for Raise and you can't stop because of this or that reason. People will get mad at you for no reason. Plus i won't go on the TELEPORT subject because thats another story... Don't let things like that get u down.

I think for the most part people are happy to get a raise but from my experience people who want a raise 2 in an experience party should just except a raise 1. The amount of time wasted waiting for the raise 2 to get there could have been spent getting experience and the loss, although can be as much as 1400 at later levels, is probably not worth the wait.

Yah, expect to travel a bit to help a stranded dead linkshell member as well but no more than you did when you had raise 1.

R2 will be in about the same demand as R1 is when you first get it and nobody else can cast it. Don't leave an exp pt to raise someone on the other side of the zone. /anon is your best friend.

4 more levels for me until RaiseIII...but I still go help out Linkshell members, unless I'm a gazillion zones away. Random strangers? Yes, if they are requesting it and dead right in front of my face. I tell them to let me finish my party's chain first. Then I go RaiseII them.
