I've always been pretty fond of gamespy, but I do know that some of these games dont even deserve to be in these rankings.

Sabia pretty much covered it for me.

Pretty interesting read though for the Top 10 games...

Also, included to the Silent Hill series should be System Shock II... pretty crazy. Pretty much Doom III before there was a Doom III, came out in like 1999 I think, or 2000 on PC and PS2. Check it out!

Edit: Oh, they have System Shock 2 on there. Only 6? Yeah right lol... One of the best games I've ever played. :)

has anyone ever played Shivers, its a very old game but it scared the living daylights out of me when I played it.

The atmosphere was creepy not to mention the ghosts jumping out at you every 5 minutes.

I don't play many scary Games, so those are the only ones I know.

They scared the pants off me. I still can't find them, as a matter of fact.

I've mentioned before that I don't get frightened, I'm lacking that somehow. I get startled, grossed out, and repulsed, but never scared.

I do however have a morbid love of "scary" video games, anything macabre or horrible makes me happy as hell...

Silent Hill 1 - 4. MY favorite series EVER.

Fatal Frame 1 - 2. Close second.

Eternal Darkness! Dude! Ellah! That was an awesome fragging game! I loved when you were playing the young boy um...he was roman I think? French? Something...and, as he's going insane, you walk out of a room...and his head falls off. Then the rest of his body goes.

XD Fugging awesome.

If anyone else has any good Survival Horror games ;_; tell me about them! They're my absolute favorite!

Hehehe, My favorite was the Blue Screen of Death on the GC. Every once in a while that happened.

What was also kewl was walking into a Room of Zombies and Dying, then waking up in Front of it on the Floor.
 
My favorite "scary" games:

1) Silent Hill series - I hate playing them alone!
2) Resident Evil series - Gamecube remakes rock
3) Eternal Darkness - Lovecraft reigns eternal
4) Dino Crisis - I'm in Jurassic Park and I'm low on ammo!
5) The Thing - I'm cold and something wants to eat me!
6) Night Trap - "With a little more practice, you could be perfect!"
7) Splatterhouse series - It's just icky.
