True devi and jender. A lot of the coolest girls I have met are "ugly" by the media standards but yet they are still unpopular. Yet the dumbest girls in my school are cheerleaders. I think as long as ppl like Britney spears and Paris Hilton (stupid spoiled whore, South Park got it right) exist, America will slowly kill itself. I see why conservative countries like the middle east hate america so much.
And what I hate the most is whenever a smart intelligent person tries to teach people about morality they are labeled as "prunes" or "moral nazis." WTF?? When did it become wrong to have SOME morality and integrity in this country? Why is is that people who are pro-stupidy are labled as liberals yet people who are tyring to gear America towards good again are considered the enemy? Not everyone who wants Amercia to be a better place is 60 years old. God, I hate stupid people. They dont seem to understand that having some moral integrity is GOOD.

It's all subjective. My version of "good" is different than anyone else's version of "good." This is going to be a wild generalization, but most conflicts in history can be boiled down to one person trying to impose their version of "good" on someone who isn't really too keen on it. Your version of good seems to fall under the morally wholesome poodle skirt variety, and there's nothing at all wrong with that. Don't be surprised, though, if people give you odd looks when you explain your views to them.

And since when is being liberal being pro stupidity?
 
I am a liberal, I don't think it is stupid.

I just think it is sad that some girls have to whore themselves out or NOT eat for attention, that's all. I think that the media and society's portayl of women does effect the mindset of younger girls (since I WAS one) I have always wanted to be an actress - when I was in middle school - highschool I had an eating disorder because I didn't think I was thin enough to be an actress. Christ, they call J-Lo fat in the media...and Bridget Jones - they make so much fuss over Renee Zelwegger (who I love btw) gaining 20 pounds (OH NO - she is a normal woman's weight - BURN HER AT THE STAKE) it gives young girls impossible images to live up to. And when girls are that young, they are trying so hard to be "pretty" and accepted, that they totally buy into it. It is a fact of life.

Now that I am older - I could care less what they are wearing on tv - because I am more confident in myself now. I can roll my eyes and remember a time when I thought I had to do that shit. LOL Now, if I want to wear slutty clothes, I do so - but I don't parade around a Toys R Us...

Anyway - yeah. I don't think that girls should wear "poodle skirts" (Lord knows i am guilty of flashing cleavage when Josh and I go out) I just don't care to see their thongs hanging out of their pants.

You speak of "moral integrity" [in the context of teen/young adult sexuality] as if it were something that everyone could of course agree on. Not everyone who wants to make things better is 60 years old, not everyone who doesn't agree with your particular version of moral integrity is some sort of pervert. There's a lot of in-between from "no sex ever!" to "sluts'r'us!"

And something that's been bothering me since you posted it: WTF does being Mexican have to do with anything? You say it's gotten to the point where you "don't want a Mexican girlfriend." Let's hear you say out loud that Mexican girls are sluttier if that's what you mean. You seem unhappy that the girls you might be interested in are not interested in you because you "dress like a 'gangster' because [you] want to" and they see you as a troublemaker--just based on the way you dress--well, what are you basing your judgments on?
 
What I was talking about Anesly was based on my personal experience with the mexican girls in my school. They seem to be getting worse and worse for some reason. We have a high number of teen pregnancis and the vast majority are hispanic girls.Im basing my judgment on these particular girls based on my personal opinion of them. And what I meant about the girls im interested in is that them too have biased views on certain people. Just like the media protrays a skinny chick half starving as "pretty" they too potray hispanics who dress a certain way to act a certain way. (This is completly MY opinion).

and No I dont think Liberals are stupid. What I meant was that thoese people, the media mostly, who are the most responsive for all the crap thats out there right now are usually always labeled as liberals. And those who try to do something about, regardelss of their views or religion are potraied as the enemy.

And I know everyone has a different view on what is moraly good or bad, but I believe (and I really believe this) that everyone, regarldess of views or upbrining, share some similiar mindsets. Everyone knows killing someone is bad, and whoever does kill someone is called "imoral" and "evil." Rape, incest etc.. are all things that everyone knows is bad. Im not saying to wear poodle skirt (/em admits he doesnt know what a poodle skirt is) , but Im saying somehtings just are (again this is MY opinion) just not the best things to be doing. I dont know of anyone who would say that its moraly good for a 15 yrd old to get pregnant, or for high school and college girls to be treated like garbage in parties, or for young girls who idolize celiebrities to starve themselvs.. Thats the behavior I was talking about that I believe everyone knows its wrong.
 
I have to disagree the media is to blame. Someone at a media company didn’t up and decide one day we would show young anorexic girls dressed in very little clothing. It starts because a large trend of people moved in that direction. Media companies are in business to make money and as such they must show what there audience wants. Yes, by showing this image, in encourages other to follow in this image, but untimely the consumer is responsible for buying into it. One historical example is elves dance where he was shaking his hips in a humping motion. At this time it was immoral to move your stuff in such a way publicly. TV which broadcasted this keeps the cameras above his waste and never showed it, but people who viewed the show live start dancing in similar manners, which lead other people to follow. Also if you look though out history each generation has become more open about sexual behaviors and it was not until after a large group of people found a behavior acceptable, did media begin to show it.

Now this leads us to the subject of Morals. The problem with morals is everyone has a different set of morals. At one time in Christian history it was immoral for unmarried women to expose anything more than her face. Every other point on her body including her hair had to be covered. There is still a set of people that still follow this. In strict Muslim cultures (not all Muslim cultures) women are required to cover everything including there face. Does this level of strict moral standards prevent immoral sexual conduct? No, even during the most conservative moral times rape, S&M, adultery and other behaviors still existed. (I’d recommend everyone watch “The History of Sex” on the history channel). Whose morals standards do you pick and how far do you let one set of moral standards control people before you give up the freedom of choose.

Now the subject of tolerance, just like morals; tolerance can be taken too far, at what point we must accept everything and everybody, then once again, we give up our freedom of choose.

Though you and most people would find murder, rape and insect immoral; our sociality did not outlawed them for those reasons. Let’s start with murder; murder is illegal because it violates a person’s right to life that is granted to them under law. If murder was a case of moral code, then most people would find it acceptable to gun down a known criminal in the streets. Rape is basically the same principle; you are violating a person’s right to chose. Insect is simply a health concern. Now our bigamy laws are moral laws, since the action of bigamy does not affect anyone outside of the participants, other than offending people.

To summarize are parents are the ones who are responsible for teaching us what our morals and tolerance are, it is our chose follow them or not. No one else can force us them on us. So ultimately the only person to blame for poor morals is the people choosing to have poor morals. Personally I am against any kind of moral laws. Laws should only be created when the behavior of one person effects the rights of another person.

Chpal and others: These are the reasons I don't have a girlfriend. Im just not interested in stupid girls - I don't like stupid people in general. 90% of the girls I know fall into the "Stupid" category, and of the other 10%:

5% of the girls that I know that I consider attractive, but theyre already in a serious relationship, and I'm not the kind of person who can try and break something up for my own ends.

5% of the girls that I know that I consider attractive are lesbians. :P

I'm not making any kind of joke out of that either. I like intelligent girls who are kind of tomboyish, and I think short hair on a girl is mad sexy. Hence, a lot of the girls I find attractive fall into this category. :(

Anyhow, to reiterate, stupid chicks are annoying, and intelligent chicks are hot. :D

Sorry, the threads in the flameboard just completely wiped out my ability to address this right now..although as the mother of 2 daughters and the older sister to 4 women...I have thoughts - oh MAN do I have thoughts.

1. Sex is GREAT. The history of sex is GREAT. Women should be allowed to LOVE SEX without being judged. They can't, but they should. Women just aren't sure how to express it yet. It's only in the last 20 years that it's been even remotely acceptable to admit you ENJOY sex as a female. Mm...so at first we start acting like men..whores that they are - but ya know - that's not working for us. Being keeper-o-the-cootchie however, got old. We're finding our middle ground between liberation, pleasure, and multiple STD's. We'll get there, be patient.

2. The History of Sex is GREAT. There was this very very brief period of time known as the Nifty 50's when the country was prosperous, no crises, and it was hip to be square. It's sooo odd how a decade - give or take - has become the definition of perfection. Women could legally be raped by their husbands, divorce was all-fault...boys n girls - it wasn't perfect. And women were still getting knocked up out of wedlock...back seats were huge for a reason...there were still drugs, and issues...and VD...now we just TALK about it. Helping your kids and people you influence to make SENSE of all of this is more important than continuing to complain about it.

It ain't gonna change.

I agree whole-heartedly with this. Though, the male/female double standard in regards to sex will probably NEVER go away, I do feel that every woman has a right to do whatever the hell she wants, and have a great time doing it.

*I do not, however feel as though kids and pre-teens should be considered "women"....they are girls...there is a big difference The reason that I feel that the media plays a role in the unnerving minds of young girls is because I EXPERIENCED IT. Not only in my own life, but I taught K-6th graders theatre and performance last summer, and I cannot even TELL YOU how many little girls - below 10 years old were pulling there pants down to hang VERY low (low enough to see pubic bone....if they had gone through puberty) and walking around going "Look! I am pretty like Britney Spears" <---that is what makes me sad....the role models given to kids. *****Not grown women having fun....since y'all can probably tell that I try to have as much fun as possible LOL ;) <3
 
Oh good god...that's not as much of as a dress as it is a crime in most states! Who would let a 15 year old girl wear that...thing!?

Josh would KILL me if I dressed like that in public. Infact last year we fought over my Halloween costume...I was trying on Mermaid costumes and this really cute french maid one - and he kept trying to get me to dress as an Ewok. NOT ONLY THAT - but he wanted me to get the maid costume for "at home" and the Ewok costume for "in public" :roll: hehehe

Anyway - back tothe main point - this dress is.....yeah. For Highschoolers? SO FREAKING SAD that they have to grow up so fast now. ><
 
I wouldn't let any female I know wear that dress, unless they enjoyed taping their boobs to it...
