I have noticed that the overall quality of the things on this board has been degrading as of late. My question to the community at large is: Is QCDN going the way of the Dodo? Has this community been so corrupted by all the bullshit from those notorious idiots that we ourselves have nothing better to do than feed the trolls? Is it that we need more control over who gets in, and who doesn't? Do we just need more modding and admining going on than is already? Discuss, because I've been wondering about these questions. Someone brought up on another post about maybe creating a new forum for our server, and I'd be happy to do so myself, but as it will cost about $6-$10/month to run it, I don't want to go out and start it before I get the go ahead from the regulars here and possible pledges for donations so I don't end up fronting the whole bill :lol:

I think it's still going strong, except for maybe a couple of forums (flameboard comes to mind)

But if you want to create a new server forum (preferably one with several mods and requires them to accept the users) I'm all for changing if the rest of the qcdn community do ^^

You want a new board? If I have enough supporters that will move I create another one although for the features you want Ill have to pay $12 a month . But if the support is there and maybe some donations (.50) we can make it happen

I've already volunteered to head this new sight, at my own expense. Just need to know if it's worth my time to do so. I've pretty much come up with this: If I have the Go Ahead from these people, then I'll start the work ASAP.

The reason they are on this list is because of their overall standing on this board. If I can get them to agree, I'll go ahead and start a new one.

I as well would support a Giant emmigration to a new server forum. This one is strong, but it lacks an obvious element. An admin that isnt missing XD.

True dat. Not .dat dat as in that. Anyway I whould like to see more common things on the Auction House board for example some grew 5 stacks of bluepeas. Well what do you know some one needs them but didnt check the auction house in the city you posted them. Well here you can work out a deal and bam!!!!

Its not spam its an Auction house board. Not tomention alot of people whould like to buy in bulk. Bulk being the key word here not

fourms with a population this large need:

Multiple people with Admin powers (3-4)

Granted satus. Where the Admins or select mods give the member the power to post, but untill then, they can still read the topics.

Flamebord Mod. The flamebord isnt suposed to be a "i can post whatever i want, so F*** you." Its a place to settle disputes, and post problems they have with people. yes, you can flame people, but there must be a reason to whatever you post, just like every other part of the fourm.

I agree with Mara. If I do, in fact, make this new site, I will more than likely give Sabia and Jender full admin rights. They participate in the functioning of this site, and seem to remain impartial enough to provide good judgements on the topics addressed.

I'm not leaving QCDN because the flameboard sucks, been here since the begining when the flameboard wasn't even used. Just because one board is spoiled doesn't mean the whole community is screwed.

PS: For those who think it's more than the FB that's screwing the site, how different do you think a new Board with the same members would be? I love how you guys all jump ship because a few trolls have taken over the shittiest section of the site.

It's not just the flameboard Sabs. It's a lot of other things too. There's not enough control by mods/admins without Pupusa here or a viable replacement. I do think the flameboard is the source of most of the drama, but even the Event Scheduling and General discussion are getting excess posts that aren't being trimmed. I think that we'd be better off if something changed. I don't want to leave QCDN any more than you do, but if it's necessary to get some legitimate posting done, I will support it, and lead the charge if I must.

I actually would be sad to see this site slip away. I agree that a missing Admin is a problem but wouldn't it be worthwhile to try and get some changes made here before striking out and reinventing the wheel?
