Total lunar eclipse tonight

[Excalibur]

So, as the title says, there's a total lunar eclipse tonight. Chances are anyone interested in this sort of thing already knows, but in case you don't, or you forgot, that's why I post. It will begin at 8:43pm EST, mid-eclipse will hit at 10:26pm EST, and it will end at 12:06am EST. I have no idea how they know the times so exactly, but there you go. If you're interested in astronomy like I am, here's a good list of all the sky events taking place on planet Earth. http://www.astronomy.com/asy/default.aspx?c=sk&id=130

This is your last chance to see one until 2010, so put the keyboard down, step outside, and take a look at the sky tonight you lazy fucks.

interesting to know, i've seen a few before I was going to recommend against viewing it because I got it confused with solar eclipse; of course it isn't.

go go red moons

Now solar eclipses aren't good to view with the naked eye alone...

I've yet to see one

Could be a 2-for-1 show tonight.

Satellite Shootdown Window Opens at 10:30PM Tonight

The U.S. Navy’s window of opportunity to shoot down the satellite beings at 10:30 p.m. ET Wednesday, however, weather issues could delay the launch until Thursday. The missile used will be fired from the USS Lake Erie, slightly East of Hawaii. The Shuttle Atlantis safely landed today, so there is no danger on that front.

[...]

If the first missile misses, the ship has two more onboard. The Navy may take a second shot if the first launch fails, and if they feel there is still time to make another attempt.

However it does mention a desire to not use explosives.

Just an update on the missile shooting down a satellite. The missile was launched and apparently hit the satellite on the first missile.

[Solan]

Damn, I had to work during the eclipse but I got my break at 7:30 although it was to cloudy to see anything -.-

And I wish I could of seen that satellite being bombed down.
