/. has a discussion going on about a CNET article stating that the (original) Gameboy is the toughest product ever made. Lots of people (myself included) are still about to play games perfectly decades after its initial purchase. Anyone else?

i still have mine.. and it works perfectly

I don't know what happened to mine, but I know I put it through hell! I believe my parents sold it at a garage sale lol

You weren't born in 1972 were you?

lol no, I was just pulling shit out of my ass. I've never even seen a Magnavox irl. I've never seen the 70's either. I just wanted to one-up Vala cause he was one-upping everybody else.

That sonofabitch could take some damage, thats for sure. I dropped mine so many times, and it still worked like a charm. If only todays technology were so durable. My shit breaks now without anyone even touching it.

I'd say it's a draw between the original Gameboy and the Nokia brick...I think it was 5160 or something. You could throw that phone against a wall and it would work better.

my gameboy doesn't work, the gray glass screen keeps falling off=/

I think that's the gameboy I first started playing video games on. . .

brb, fetal position

My NES and SNES still work.

I think my Genesis still does too.

I have a pair of toenail clippers that have been with me for 12 years and have seen some rediculous things, but still work perfectly.

pretty impressive, IMO.
