Trading in a good car for a dream car?

I *know* it's a VW Bug. All of the signs are there, and I know Sabs.

I'd definitely say go for it. The gas powered heater is pretty interesting in the winter time. One warning though, I'm pretty positive there's a heating duct that *always* rusts out on those, so I'd get that checked before you need the heat.

Oh and personal dream car hierarchy:
1. Ferrari F40, classic black and yellow trim
2. 60's Mustang GT frame/body with modern upgrades (especially with fuel efficiency) probably with a nice gunmetal grey and chrome look.
3. Subaru Impreza STI stripped of the street kit and refitted for actual dirt driving. WRX Blue of course.

If I sold the Protege 5 I'm guessing I could get between 10-13k for it and I only owe another 6k on the loan (I paid 17 for it). I'm just torn....suggestions? I really love this little 1974 baby :(

It sounds like you already have your mind made up and just looking to us for approval/justification. You already know what you want to do so, follow through with it.

P.S. If this will help you sleep at night...it's not often you get to fulfill a dream so if you get the chance you shouldn't pass it up.

I would get a good mechanic to take a look at it before you buy it, and a carfax too.
 
Well I bought it, she needs a little work like some new paint and such but man is she hot property! $3500 too :D

- (year does not matter) Dodge Viper GTS - black or dark blue with white stripes --- /cream

- Bugatti Veyron O.o my parents saw one in Daytona Beach on the back of a truck - $1mil well spent.

- Mercedes-Benz 300SL - Gullwing Doors make me wet; I can't explain it.




Guilty pleasure of a car:

--1981-83 DeLorean DMC-12. Who wouldn't want to hit 88mph in one of those?
 
One day I will own my dream car. I don't care how but I will get it.

It's my little put put, gonna go pick him up today and save up some money for a new paint job. I want to keep the yellow but maybe add a small white fleck to it.

This guy that lives 10 minutes from my house sells used limos and hearses ("Funeral Coaches" is the new PC term). He had one for $5000 I was so tempted to buy, but I have to finish school before getting a spiffy vehicle.

hey thats awesome, my mom had an original bug she drove states away to get about a year ago, hers was silver. but...she had to sell it :(

and then theres my dream car...a car my dad could have bought for 300 Dollars one night at a bar when i was a kid and passed up...ive only ever seen one of these up close, and i can only dream.
