I was a server transfer about a year ago. I quit for 2.5 years came back and all my friends were gone. I transfered here because a current co-worker plays on this server.

Server transfers are primarily people who need to run for whatever reason. If they were good people and/or good players, there is no reason for them to transfer because they can easily find a group that would accept them based on that criteria alone. The only real benefit to a server transfer is a new start and if you need that, it means you're not one of the above people; in other words, all server transfers with very few exceptions.

I know that people are generally wary anymore of transfers since we've gotten more than our fair share of buttheads but I really dont think that anyone should be singled out or bashed simply because they're being cautionary. From someone asking a simple question I dont think anyone should respond with 'HE'S A NICE GUY, WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM!?' or 'OH GOD THEY'RE ALL THIEVES!' or anything, well, stupid.

Wak was just curious, there is no reason to jump at him, or jump at anyone else in this conversation because of their opinion. I know quite a few server transfers that are awesome people. I also know a few that are assholes. The good outweighs the bad but the bad get all the press.

So lets all just settle down and not jump at the chance to spill blood (in the wrong place to do it, no less) at the drop of a hat.

Oh, right. I forgot this was totally about racism, not a video game. Idiot. Your friend choses to leave behind friends to come here, that's his choice. But for you to say he isn't leaving behind friends or even a group that got him all that gear is anything shy of BS.

There are a number of reasons for people to transfer off their old server that isn't "running from something". Friends on another server, their server is too crowded(Odin), joining another linkshell on another server, looking for a server with more people in their time zones(I know quite a few EUs do this), or they came back after a long quit to find everyone they knew gone and want a fresh start like in Gohaan'se case.

Just because we have had some bad run ins with server transfer linkshells we can't just assume most are that way(Hello Insurrection?)

A friend of mine transferred here a little over a year ago. His end game ls on Ifrit broke, and he was sick and tired of the botting kings drama that he dealt with every day. He was planning to quit the game when I mentioned that he should transfer over here and work on Maat's cap or something, instead of jumping into end game.

Today..my friend has maat's cap, and hasn't camped a king the entire time he's been here. And he's a lot happier.

To get to the point.. just because you transfer servers doesn't mean you're evil and running away from the people who got you a bunch of gear. In my friends case.. They weren't a ls anymore. He didn't have to show them any loyalty.

A scythe and ring when worn together provides "enhances souleater effect" (+2% HP to SE), one of the highest base damages on a scythe while maintaining LOW delay for the highest DPS outside of relic and rare/expensive HQ, +7 STR between the two items, and +5 accuracy the whole time. Yah, that sounds pretty crappy to me too...

I read your post. 7 STR from a scythe and a ring combo? That's not overly impressive. Enhanced Souleater? I can get that from 3 other pieces of gear. 5 acc? I can get 8 From Perdu Sickle/Venerer Ring even. Nothing on this set makes it worth using full-time in a pt or anywhere else. If you want to continue this meaningless discussion, feel free to take it to the DRK forum (or the Flameboard, since you like insulting people in your posts by calling them things like "idiot") since it's beyond the scope of this topic.

Ciao! I heard there was some post about me on qcdn so i thought to check out what it was about.. All i can say is that i'm not here to create drama or any kind of problems, i'm not that kind of person. Other than that the reason of my transfer doesn't reguard anyone apart from me.. Oh and yea, i do have a scythe, actually 3 scythes..tredecim (<3 it), perdu and moli set so d/w w :biggrin:

Sorry for the derail, Death Scythe +1 has higher base damage, and higher DPS.

DPS from best to worst is Apoc > DS+1 > Moliones > Perdu, not 100% sure where Tred comes, i think it's in last place. Weapons are not chosen purely on there DPS though.

On-topic(ish - not the OP topic but meh) I considered changing servers myself, for the reason Auron mentioned - more EU players. But... I decided against it, why waste the money to transfere when i have friends here? and sure it takes me longer to get the items i want because i can't attend all the events if they take place too late for me, I guess it's lucky i'm a patient person. I do somewhat agree with Lavi, in that server transfere makes me suspicious (as does a name change) but it doesn't mean i don't give them a chance because there are valid reasons to move.

Except it adds all three stats in one slot freeing up an extra slot and removing the latent effect.

As for my "flameboard" comment, it was pretty watered down. He tried to infer racism out of not liking server transfers when many of them have been cheaters and thieves. If you're really that fond of them, invite them to your group. Quetz has seen far more botting in recent times initiated by transfer groups who's soul mission is to bot up gear before getting banned if they ever even do. Sorry, but I don't need to show them any compassion when their negative impact far outweighs any positives. Or need I remind you of those awesome shells WeBotClaim, DarkDesire or PP. There may some good players who are good people, but for all intents and purposes, if they're good people they should prosper anywhere and not just quetz.

Agred with the botting point. Some people don't transfer because they cheat and are hated, but the oppisite. I've heard of a couple servers where botting RMTs have destroyed the server. Lines of bots sitting and fishing nebs, entire LSs with a mandatory bot rule, our server isn't all that bad compared to the shit that goes on in a couple others.

It's not the best either. I recall chatting with a friend who transferred from a smaller dying server, forget which, where they had no website/sign up for dynamis. Everyone just waltzed in whenever they felt like it. So they came here and were extremely surprised to find out we actually have a dynamis schedule

Sometimes they're server just sucks ass. Sometimes they suck ass. Sometimesthey came back after being away for awhile. It varies and you can't say for sure which they are (unless they're server has a site akin to qcdn)

Tramonto is one of the nicest guys ive ever met, been playing FF with him for a long time now, he'd never do anything to offend anyone, and to be honest im surprised he even posted on this forum . As for transfering id assume he came here because alot of his friends were here, me, blood, shubbie etc(+ I was i heavily bitching him to play FF more, good influence i know!).
Hes a very good player and has alway been a very good player, in my opinion.

I'd say the same! Alas, I sadly did not take a screenshot either.


Worst part is, I believe it was a Samurai wearing it, since M.Ring is [All Jobs]. I'd have to verify this with Darsha, since he was also there and saw it. Perhaps he has the name/screenshot.

That might be me, I haven't got around to camping the ring and since I don't get to use DRK much, it's really not a priority to me at the moment. I'll maybe attempt it soon, but these days, I have so much to do that I can't find the time to sit down and do it.

Also, I saw someone using the ring on a job besides DRK, but I am pretty sure it was for the STR since only the accuracy and enhances souleater effect require the set.
