Traveling to Canada, some questions

Honestly, if I were you, and with the way things are in this country right now, I wouldn't screw around. Pay the 10 bucks to get a passport and be done with it.

Passports are about $100.00 now.

I did it at my bank in Seattle and didn't get charged for it at all. Since Chicago is farther north, I'd bet that they'd have some CAD.

Ouch!
That makes for an F in geography.
Chicago ~41.80 degrees North
Seattle ~47.60 degrees North

Sabia will not be amused, lol.

Hahaha. I didn't mean farther North than Seattle, I typed it sort of wrong, but I meant that it's still up in the Northern US. I typed it comparing it to where I live, Northern California. :P

Good save bud. ;)

Also, Chpal is from Palatine, so thats North West of Chicago, just so you know Sculli. :P

This is true, they are about $80-100 now. Also I believe it takes like 8-12 weeks to get it. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I went to Europe last year, and it took me about a month to get mine. :?

Along with the Poutine, if you drink coffee at all, I recommend Tim Horton's coffee. Medium, double, double is all you have to say.
From my experiences, Toronto and the suburbs around like Mississauga are awesome places.

If you plan to drive, take note, they are in kilometers not miles. Personal experience with seeing the 100klm sign and went 100 in my car. Also, in highways, trucks can be in any lane.

The only thing I don't like in Canada is that you can't get un-sweetened Iced Tea anywhere. >_<

Oh Chpal since you're from Palatine, little cultural note that I found out from my cousins who live there, Toronto was designed similarly to Chicago but without Navy Pier.

And always my favorite is the Beer Store or LCBO. Only country that I know that receives Lychee liquor. Haven't found it here at all. T_T

Bring Moose repelant.
Bring crackers and beer to subdue the natives. (The get restless from time to time)
Bring a pocket translator as well. Sometimes the natives get too drunk and get ornery and start yelling in French. Use simple words and fish eggs to bring them back to their senses, or at least draw their attention away from you while you make your escape.
