Is there a trick or something into getting them to give the gear you want? I've been after Herder's Subligar since it was added and all I've gotten is a fuck ton of potions, ethers, a few random pieces of shitty gear and logs.

Does AoE killing mobs lower chances of getting a brown chest? Does having more guesses left when you open increase the odds of good gear?

Or is it all luck and I just have shitty luck?

It's just shitty luck. Every time you kill a mob it's a guaranteed 10% chance that either a blue chest or brown chest will pop. So 5% chance that it pops I guess if that's right.

AoE plays no role in hurting chances. I've done it and had 2 chests pop.

6 chances also does not mean it's garbage as many people believe. My buddy got the H2H weapon in qufim island today with 6 chances.

Sadly, Treasure Caskets are all luck. I've gotten two of the rare/ex drops from them and I believe both were from chests with 5 tries. I used to think that the lower number of tries meant it was more likely to have the item, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't. It took me quite awhile to get both though, so I'm pretty good at opening chests now atleast, lol.

I'm not positive, but I think only a set number of chests can be at a zone at any given time too, so if there are parties in the zone, I think it's less likely one will appear.

I tossed two of those. I got mine in saumaign <sp>. The chests were 5 guess ones both times. Both off the Tabar beaks. Idk if that will help you any.

I spent around 13hrs over 2 days getting mine, made alil gil from farming Cockratrice and even killed Deadly Dodo 3 times (1/3 on drop, gave the skill to an LS friend)

A few days after I went to help someone get theirs… second brown chest >.>. lucky SoBs.

I haven't gotten any gear from the chest except for stuff I can sell, which is not to bad for a new player like me. I vendor almost everything I get. It would be cool to get a nice piece of gear from one of the chest's but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
