Treasures of Aht'Urghan site updated.

so its true.. PUP pets are bigger than tarus.. /cry

These wandering performers entertain crowds and confound their enemies with a customizable puppet known as an "automaton." Puppetmasters can also fall back on hand-to-hand fighting skills that utilize the flexible movements of their art.

I like the sound of "customizable".. but lol H2H skills?

"woot" for fire-breathing crawler-remakes <.<;

So Puppet masters not only get stuck with hth...they don't even get weapons to go with it. I'm going to have to see that in action.

I'm pretty sure they'll get weapons. Notice they don't have Blue Mages wielding any weapons in thier screenshots on the New Jobs section as well.

Really though, Hand to Hand without Martial Arts is a pretty poor weaponset.

Hand to hand this can be perfect for me as a monk

I love the AF look on the taru

At this point, they should just rename the expansion "LOL Beastmen"
You sir, win a cookie. Haven't laughed so hard at 7 in the morning in a while lol.

After looking at the site I have to wonder what they meant by customizable. FFXI isn't exactly known for that, so I can't imagine it will be very good. Who knows, maybe they're starting to find ways around certain limitations.

I also wonder about what they might have meant about the Flan's mood having a large effect on its actions. Perhaps there will be a strategy to defeating them involving their mood, or.. more likely anyway, it was just a tidbit of information that has little to do with actual in game mechanics.

so Cerberus will be the Ash Dragon of this new tunnel place? :P

Cerberus looked to be a BCNM mob in the SE trailer, or at least in a cutscene. (2:16 in) Plus, the description mentions him being somewhat tame, so I doubt he's a simple HNM.

he was only in the trailer for like.. 3 seconds, wasn't he? He might be a popped HNM or something...

This unearthly three-headed beast prowls the tunnels of Halvung. According to legend, Cerberus is the watchdog that guards the gates of the underworld. It is said that any who manage to escape will be hunted until Cerberus sends them back to his shadowy realm. However, the Cerberus of Halvung was discovered buried in igneous rock during a construction project. The beast went on a rampage until the mercenary chief managed to tame him. Although Cerberus is faithful to his master, one of his heads is continually afflicted with a craving, which puts the beast in a constant foul mood. In his endless rage, Cerberus spews toxic flames without cease or concern for surroundings, resulting in many hapless tragedies. It is for this reason that even the menacing Troll mercenaries are said to cover their ears and shiver in fear when the jarring roar of Cerberus echoes through the tunnels.

A tamed mob isn't gonna be a 24-hour HNM, that's all I'm really saying. And the few seconds they showed him, it didn't look like that was a conventional attack, more like the warcry most bosses do during the cutscene before you fight them. My bet is he's part of the storyline battles.

Yea, I'd agree with Mai. I think he's definatly party of the storyline battles.

Either way, I look forward to seeing all this in the expansion. :)

Now that you mention that, maybe MNK will actually be a good sub for the job since you'll get Martial Arts, or maybe they'll get the trait as well, of course not as many as a MNK, wonder if they'll have Asuran Fists :P

Well if you watch that PUP and BLU video fight that was posted here recently you'll see the PUP uses Kick Attacks a few times during the fight and since you couldn't get that with /MNK it looks like PUP is at least getting some of MNKs job traits.
