Been trying to call my friend for about two hours now. I'm getting a very staticky line and hearing:

(The stupid tri-ring sound) All circuits are busy now, please try your call later. 044T

I've called him before and the line was busy, and I just got any regular busy signal. Wierd. o.O Anyone know what that means?

All the circuits are busy?

You couldn't phone a friend so you're asking the audience?

Either their phone line is dead/damaged or perhaps they block long distance calls? (though I dunno if you're calling long distance or not)...if one of their phone jacks is damaged, it can cause serious problems with making/receiving calls as well as connecting via dialup, so it may be that.

What are circuits, and I managed to call him ^^. He said something about telemarketer calling, although wouldn't explain the busy circuits, as I would have gotten a busy signal o_o

fuckup at the phone company is my bet.

When you call any land line, there is maximum capacity depending on the switch they are on. Since all phone companies (generally) operate thier own switches, then if that switch has no open ports for an incoming call (even if the persons individual line is clear) you will get the all circuits are busy message. Thus, larger phone companies have more capacity, and shitty smaller services don't. There is a lot more technical to it, but this sums it up some what.

maybe use a life line or a 50/50 instead? :spiteful:
