Hey.

So whenever I turn on my PS3, my internet connection goes down. After a few minutes, my PS3 can go online, but the other things on my wireless router have little to no connection at all.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Why is my PS3 ruining my internet connection when its on? It sucks, because when I want to play my PS3 no one else can use the internet for anything.

I have a wireless Linksys router that is only two weeks old, because I bought it thinking my much older Netgear wireless router was the problem. It wasn't.

Please help, this is driving me crazy.

Thanks!

I was thinking about getting a new modem and trying that out. Our modem isn't that old, but its worth a shot.

Hey, I remember a friend of mine having a similar problem whenever he'd play Warhawk and it'd always kill out his net whenever that happened. Check your system settings or network settings and look for something called Media Sharing and disable it. That fixed it for him.

Ahoy hoy! Good to see ya, I've been in qcdn for a while but i just looked in for infos. Thought I'd come out and post some things and stop being all ninja.

Oh, any word if turning off Media Sharing helped any? Sorry if i jumped off topic (/x\)

That happened to me alot a few weeks ago. It was my router, but you should test it. I had an Airport (makes my house a WiFi hotspot as long as it is connected) hooked up to my router, along with my xbox, so thats what i mean when i say internet in the next part.

What i did:

Test 1: Just the console hooked up to the router and see if it works.
Test 2: Just the internet hooked up to the router and see if it works.
Test 3: Both console and internet hooked up to router, and chances are neither will work.

The next day i bought a new router and everything was good as new, although my NAT isn't open anymore, but its still not that bad at moderate.

My brothers took my tv to play Halo, but I'll try that first thing in the morning. Thanks.
