I will argue all day that the energy bow from Turok is more bad ass. Nuke bow ftw hahaha. After that its spartan laser, damn that thing is incredible...
 
Spartan Laser is pretty cool, though somewhat out of place for Halo as it's only really good at taking out vehicles that haven't picked up any speed. I think Hammer of Dawn is equivalent but is more useful because Gears of Wars is so fucking slow you can actually hit people with it, and conceptually it's a cooler idea.

Still don't think many games have really passed the standard set by the BFG9000 via the original Doom. Some have came close though. I loved the Silenced PPk from Goldeneye. Wasn't exceptionally powerful, but something about it felt perfect. Timesplitters had a really nice weapon too, an energy weapon that bounced off walls. Resistance had some great ones too, the Bullseye for example...and the Auger in the hands of the Chimera makes for a badass opponent. Too bad it's really weak in player hands.

and i have quite a few uploaded in the halo SS thread.

Basically what im saying is in the right hands (aka my hands cause im beast with it) the laser is ridiculous.
 
I do agree... The Spartan Laser is incredible, much more then an anti vehicle weapon. I have had single matches with 25 kills, 18 are laser lol. Love the weapon...
 
Its one thing to be good at a distance with the laser, but up close about 90% of the people suck. I've beaten some of the laser whores with a single pistol. Not saying you guys are noobs or anything (even though i know you are :wink:) its just a lot of people take that weapon for granted and find it hurting themselves more than helping the team.
 
Spartan Laser sucks, can't even take out a puny twig tree.

Also, Turok sucks. Why they even keep making them is a mystery. Maybe this one will finally break the trend, but the question is, why was the series allowed to go on for so long? Exactly how are they funding the projects, and why were they?

I've had matches in COD4 where I have like 30+ kills with the knife, doesn't mean jack shit. If you're good and playing people that suck, weapon balance changes significantly. You wouldn't use the spartan laser against skilled opponents close up.

What are you arguing? lol. Yeah it might not be the best at close range but thats not really what its for... thats like saying the 50 cal sniper in cod4 isnt beast because you wouldnt run and gun with it or that shotguns suck because you cant long range with them (except the spas in R6 but that doesnt count...). Any and every weapon has strengths and weaknesses.

As far as being vs skilled players I could argue that, like for example playing VIP or taking people out behind the energy fields on snowbound.

And no shit if you're awesome and playing shitty people you could rape them with pretty much any weapon, i don't see what that has to do with the spartan laser or, well anything for that matter....
 
I got 174 kills in CoD on a domination match with an M60, Airstrikes and Choppers. That makes them great weapons? lol fire... And i might just use the SLaser up close no matter who i am playing. If i am going long range and some one creeps up, which they always try to get the laser guy first i will get a quick aim close up kill... This one is for anyone, I can understand you might not like the weapon, but you might not be as good as you think with it.

I will be home by 6PM EST. I have to stay a little past 5EST to finish a report.
 
That means you better be with us to do the hardest difficulty.
 
I am down to kick some dino ass. I only have until about 8 then I have to run for a couple hours but then I will be back on.

I love this game, but i can easily see why others wouldn't. Its a fairly difficult game, even on the easy setting. I'm stuck in a place right now and I know how to get past it, its just more of a matter of doing it.

Co-op is even more of a beast. Its not co-op campaign, but it will probably take you as much time. Me and Jereme finally beat the second level, but Me, Jereme, and Osy still can't beat the first level.

Consistency is sometime an issue though (i.e. i can kill someone with one shot to the face of the weakest weapon, but his friend to the left will take a full clip of a much more powerful weapon).

Also Lan, if you are still in the first few levels, its going to suck. It takes a bit of progression to get to the good part, which seems to be the rest of the game at this point.

I am progressing. It's not that it's too hard as I play most games are hardest difficulty no problem, but it just doesn't ... feel right. I can't explain it. I was a huge fan of Turok 64 and this doesn't even come close yet. I don't like the weapon system and the knife doesn't feel as smooth as it should be. I even feel they should get rid of the "OMG you have a dino on you, hit L2 and R2 really fast or we will kill you." Just fucking kill me and get it over with lol I'd like the challenge.
