Tweekers

what's meth anyways? explain

Lin, I agree with you. It was your comment about naive people that struck a chord with me.

Max, I'm sorry you've been through hard shit. But you gotta let go of that anger, son. My friend has a pretty messed up life too (dad in and out of jail for drugs since she was a baby, uncle who lived with her is a pedophile and druggie, mom's a druggie and got her younger sis into it at 11) and we took her in to get her life situated. She did meth with my brother, should they both be killed for it? They both have had a couple of go's at rehab and things are looking good now. But I guess they're fucked up beyond return and you should gun em down. I'm not saying give people a million chances. Addicts lie about everything. Still I won't give up.

For sure. Anything to get the next fix. When the urge is strong enough, they'll risk almost anything.

That's a pretty good sum up.

gir, I don't think everyone should be shot up. Those 3 people in my family, however, yes. Some people have a stronger will than others. My mother (who I still talk to on a regular basis) is still in literal awe when she sees how I've not fallen into the same downward spiral as she did. I'm not sure what makes me stronger than her, but I know I'll never touch that stuff to run away from problems.

It seems interesting how some of us who play this game have past traumatic experiences. Perhaps this is our drug. Our high.

Methamphetamine is an addictive stimulant drug that strongly activates certain systems in the brain. Methamphetamine is closely related chemically to amphetamine, but the central nervous system effects of methamphetamine are greater. Both drugs have some limited therapeutic uses, primarily in the treatment of obesity.
Methamphetamine releases high levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine, which stimulates brain cells, enhancing mood and body movement. It also appears to have a neurotoxic effect, damaging brain cells that contain dopamine and serotonin, another neurotransmitter. Over time, methamphetamine appears to cause reduced levels of dopamine, which can result in symptoms like those of Parkinson's disease, a severe movement disorder.

you all must understand people who take drugs all have a disease. this is treatable like any other sickness. do not damn these people because they have made a mistake. sure everyone here has encountered drugs at some point, even from tv or a movie. please dont be ingorant to the facts. those affected by drugs in one way or another must be stronger than the normal person whether you are an abuser, or a victim. i am a florida paramedic and can speak from experience unlike some of the previous and ignorant posters on here including the person that started this post in the first place. get a clue people.

i don't get the "spare the rod" mentality. Calling addiction a disease is cop out of the highest order, simply put it's weakness of the mind. Surely it can and should be dealt with but people who are addicts barely suffer as much as those around them and don't need more of a crutch. It all just comes off a little too soft IMO; saying it's a disease is a nice way to sell folks on books, more drugs, and therapy.

There are more tweekers around you everyday than the ones you see, lol.

The ones you see are only the ones that are so far gone already that theres no going back.

Your best friend could be a tweeker and you not know it.

BTW: If you ever suspect a friend to be a tweeker just ck thier fingers, for the little burn marks.

Any other way you probably wont know lol, unless you work with them and they seem to be this fabulosly awesome worker that sometimes dissapears from work.

[All I got to say is bless there souls and hope the find a way out of that hell or at least don't put others (such as kids) in that danger.

Peace and love not chem lab and destroy[/QUOTE]

which fingers?
just to let me know

lol.. and wtf you guys know about drugs seriously. Even though you resent hatred toward people who steal, kill and whatever else to get their fix, the real problem isnt coming from their inner selves, but mostly from an inadequate and unbalanced social "grouping" of people. I honestly am not someone who does chemical drugs, i did cocaine a couple of times (less than 10 times), but i'm mostly someone who heavily drinks, which is, let's be honest, as worst as any hard drugs you can find on the streets. Even if you don't agree with me on that last thing, let me assure you.. you are wrong. Booze kills directly and mostly un-directly as much people if not more than all that other shit alltogheter. Anyway, it's not about alchool. But seriously you guys need to go out and stop being in front of your comps and see what real life is about before you judge people that are simply victim of an unfair capitalisme-socialisme, if we can even call it that way,
that our north american society is. Pull as much shit as you want about junkies, but one day, your kid or w/e might fall victim to it... and you won't see it the same way. I'm just fucking tired of people with no real understandment of this scourge, bash on it. People start using hard drugs for a lot of different reasons, from looking for something more intense, or simply to feel accepted or to "fit" in. A lot of people actually start during their teenage years, when self esteem is usualy not too sharp. Can we really blame them, i don't think so... knowing that a mojority of them, if you didnt know yet, in North America, are girls...
So please spare me the bullshit guys, most of you never experienced much more than taking out your fucking garbage, so don't go and think you got the right to judge other people who, sometimes, have simply no choice...

Crack!!!!!crack!!!!!!!crack!!!!!!!!shooooooooow Me The Crack!!!

Man Hook Me Up With A Quick Fixxx!!! Damn It

Lmao, yes i'm sure you're right .. it's societies fault people show poor judgement and even worse common sense when it comes to recreational drug use.

There's always a choice and it's rather simple:

A.) You don't do drugs.

B.) You do drugs but know your limits.

C.) You do drugs and don't know your limits until something goes real wrong.

D.) You do drugs and not only do you not know your limits but you don't know the limits of those around you to tolerate your ignorant bullshit so you put said people through shit until their lives are as fucked up as they can make it and then some doctor tells them it's a disease or societies fault they are what they are instead of making them take a long hard honest look at the wretch they've become and either go jump off a bridge or buck up and get responsible.

It's extremely clear cut; in fact i would say that those are about the only 4 groups of people in the world when relating to this issue.

Save your gray areas and fashionable excuses for addiction for someone who hasen't dealt with it on multiple levels for as long as memory serves.

And before claiming what you think or have experienced to be facts do your homework

Can we blame them? Sure, i feel completely comfortable as a responsible adult who knows his limits doing so, and in the case of children we can go on further to blame their parents for not knowing their children well enough to catch it and slap some sense into them.

Sure would be nice if you could blame culture and "americanisms" on everything but that's simply not the case.

Its wierd to watch your own friends descend into drugs.
Alot of my school friends have slowly started getting into more and more drugs. It starts out sociably, Beer and weed and stuff, I can accept that, I know a hell of alot of people that do weed, and theres probably people I know but didn't know did weed. Afterall, in england, it's easier for someone under 16 to buy a bag of grass or a couple of spliffs, than it is for them to buy a packet of cigarettes.

But I start getting scared when I see people I've grown up with, shared good times with, snort up a line of cocaine in pub bathrooms, or pop a couple of pills.

It makes me sad to think nowadays that all "they" (I don't associate myself with said friends as much as I used to) talk about how much of -insert class A drug here- they're gonna do at the weekend, or how such and such a person went on such a downer after being pushed to do too much of whatever.

Sometimes I realise, after hearing them natter out of the corner of my ear for a while, that the only way any of them are gonna stop is by one of the tight-neck circle dieing in a drug overdosed stuper.

Kinda sad really.

I never understood that whole "looking for a better high" thing .. most likely to my credit, i would assume.

Wanna scare somone off drugs?

Load their pipe with 32x salvia extract, light, and stand well back.

Then proceed to babysit a jabbering idiot for about 30 mins until they come down and never look for a better buzz again; hand to god that shit scared the hell out of me.

ANY ADDICTION BECOMES A DISEASE AND THERE IS NOTHING SOFT ABOUT THIS WHOLE ISSUE. NOTHING ABOUT A "COP OUT" EITHER SINCE IT HAS TO BE DEALT WITH EITHER WAY.

Kind of reminds me of all the people I know who only talk about ffxi all day, read about ffxii all day, play ffxi all day, and then when they're doing none of the above post here about ffxi all day :P Self included.

Meth is bad. I was using it for a while. Never got hooked into it too bad, but it put a friend behind bars for a few months and I never saw him again. Don't do it. Natural is the way to go. Or not at all.

I agree with the poster who said alcohol was the worst drug. If I had my way, pot would be legal, I'd smoke it everyday instead of drinking beer after work, and alcohol would be wiped off the face of this earth. I've done far more that I've regretted than I've ever done on drugs, and I used to use a variety of different drugs fairly often.

Certainly you approach at posting assures me my responses are entirely over your head at this point.

Becoming addicted is a choice.

Everything past that is a result of that conscious decision, period.

Unless someone was spoonfeeding you meth/heroin/crack/etc at gunpoint (whether realisticly or metaphoricly) you are not the victim of anything but your own bad judgement.

Cause and Effect. The difference between a victim and an addict is accountability.

since we're on the subject of size it'd prolly help out to read the following as well.
