Two more Spiderman movies...

I don't understand, what's the big deal with Venom saying I?

The symbiote and Eddie Brock are two different entities that make up Venom so when he talks, he says "We" instead of "I". There's a certain maniacal twist when someone refers to themself as "We".

Todd McFarland, venom was his idea for those that don't know, had venom refer to himself as we to make him a more unique enemy in the spiderman story line. It worked to great effect and he quickly became one of spiderman's most popular nemesis's. And when something that defining is omitted it shows a lack of attention to detail and/or no respect for what makes the public love a character. Coupled with the fact they basically made venom a sideshow the whole film it bottomed out at that point for me.

Unless Tony Stark hired super models to suck my dick everytime I watched Ironman I will still be extremely pissed off at the whole Sandman thing. That's what made Spiderman Spiderman. A random thug, not a super villain.

Well I don't think being angry at Sandman being a random thug is completely fair, as the guy in the first movie was a random thug without any powers >.>

I still thought it was dumb to spring the Sandman thing from nowhere too though.

To be fair to Raimi, he didn't want Venom in the movie. That was more of a studio demand, and it really shows in the finished product. I've never cared for Venom -- Spider-Man's costume comes to life? Ugh! -- and wished it had been left out altogether.

well it didn't "come to life" really. i would have been impossible to do its full origin since the costume's original appearance and venom's appearance were literally years apart in the comics. Spiderman aquiered it on another planet and didn't know it was actually alive till Reed Richards told him it was.

What Todd did was instead of making just another enemy for Spiderman to fight he gave the costume an identity of its own. He literally made Venom a 2-in-1 villain by doing that. No one in marvel had pulled off a stunt like that before him really iirc.

Spiderman 3 i think would have been better if Venom himself wasn't in it at all. The enemies should have been the sandman with Brock being his usual asshole self and Spiderman's expected internal struggle with the suit. The scene when the Symbiont actually getting on Brock himself should have been the last frame in the movie. IMO, if done properly like the previous 2 films, that would be a cliffhanger that would leave you dying to see the next one.

i think he was smart not to want venom in the film. the studio execs were dumbasses for rushing him.

I should have worded that better. I meant the random thug he let get away. Not a random thug on the street who later became a super villain.
