Two new games from Square

The first is FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus. It's a spin-off starring Vincent and it takes place 10 years after AC. So far, the plot is basically Vincent cleaning up some trash. (figuratively speaking)

The second is Fantasy Earth which is another MMORPG! From the looks, the movements and the music of the movie, I'd say that this game was heavily influenced by Kingdom Hearts. I'm not sure about anything in this game, or what impact it will have on FFXI. We'll just have to wait and see.

FF7:DoC makes me wanna cry. Why are they trying to revive ff7? Why mess with perfection!? Do they wanna take one of their greatest titles and drag its name through the mud? DoC is gonna play pretty much the same as Devil May Cry. *sighs* why square? why?!

Actually, it looks like it might be an online ACTION RPG (Like FFCC or Kingdom Hearts.) The Combat certainly looked more intense, as did the breasts. :shock:

Actually, I have it on good authority that its a Massively Multiplayer Online Card-Collecting Kart-Racing Virtual-Pet-Raising Dating-Sim Rhythm-Dancing game on Cellphones with characters designed by Todd McFarlane.

My katakana skills are a little rusty, but I think the characters there say "AKUSHIIN" or "Action" spelled phoenetically in Katakana.
 
Is that a good thing or a bad thing? In FFXI, all the crap that happens is on some server way far away and the things show up on your screen a little delayed. This isn't so bad for an RPG, but if there was an action game it would be very difficult seeing as how you need fast reflexes and what not. If you get 5 seconds of lag in an RPG, who cares. If you get 5 seconds of lag in an action game, it might be your end.

Well, Tribes manages to do okay. As long as they keep the area and/or server populations down (Instanced dungeons for example) it should be okay.

I'd also like to note that DoC, from what I've heard, takes place one year after AC, not ten.
 
Oy no more MMORPGs Square! You make me want to cry....I waste enough time on FFXI but damn that Fantasy earth is sexy...

Anyway both games look awesome, don't think I could give up my lil SMN though... :(
 
dont get it. Fantasy Earth seems to be oky with some of u guys....but it looks like its running the old EQ engine...im confused. Didnt all of u hate that game's outdated graphics engine? hmmmmmm.
 
I think it looks like Kingdom Hearts and that games artistic style is awesome. Nobody really says the graphics of Final Fantasy XI are better (It's running on a PS2 for shits sake) but I do enjoy the art style more. Hence I think the game looks better than EQ.
 
I was commenting moreso on the environments. One of the screens reminded me of Western Wastes from EQ. The character design definitely looks like Kingdom Hearts.
