Background:
Tyrisian was born in Windhurst during the War. Son to a fisherman he had
lived his first five years in a quaint home in Windhurst Walls. During his earliest years
his greatest joy was to go hunting with his grandfather. Eldrin Da’Grant was a Ranger
of no small talent and Tyr lived to be big and strong enough to go hunting with him.
Eldrin had only one child his daughter Gwen and was highly disappointed
In her choice to marry a simple fisherman. So when they had given birth to a boy the
Old man was ecstatic to have someone to share his knowledge and training with. However the war had reached the kingdom of Windhurst and it was not to be.
Tyrisian’s parents had fled the city with one of the large groups seeking
To escape the battle. Eldrin was forced to agree with their decision since his son-in-law Hector had no fighting experience and women (in his misguided opinion) had no place in combat. The last Tyr had seen of him was in a throng of people fortifying the city walls.
As the war ended his small family found themselves a new home in
Mhuara. Hector found work on the docks and the occasional ferry trip to Selbina and
Gwen began to work as an apprentice and clerk in the Goldsmithing shop. It was some
years later that word filtered back to them of Eldrins fate. He had been overcome by a
group of Orcs and was rescued by a female Samurai. Despite her aid and all the skill
of the healers he did not survive his wounds.
When the young man was in his early teens his father had perished at see
When pirates attacked his ship. His family was devastated and Tyr despite knowing
Otherwise, began to develop a hatred for weakness such as his fathers. How can anyone
In times like these, with creatures such as the Beastmen about, chose to be weak and
Not fight for the survival of themselves and those around them? His grandfather had died defending an entire Kingdom and his dad died transporting sardines to a cook In Selbina.
Where was the honor? What was the meaning? A man died in his prime so that a cook in
Some distant land could raise the price of his dinner special.
His mother had become distant and withdrawn, always tired or working.
She had to pick up a second job cleaning rooms at the inn and Tyr full of rage and confusion began to wonder the docks and back alleys. Hanging with the wrong crowds
And fighting all the time and every victory, every loss or broken bone was a slap
In his fathers face on his way to becoming stronger.
One day Tyr had come home early, covered in dirt and blood, to find his
Mother crying, but not alone. With her sat a young girl, an Elvann with a thick accent and
Long red hair. She too was crying. The girls name was Evalin and she had come a great
Distance to meet the family of the man who had saved her life when pirates had attacked
The ferry she was on. Tyrisian was shaken to the core of his being. He was wrong. His
Father, the weakest man he had ever known, sacrificed himself saving a stranger. What
Did this mean? What was strength? What was weakness? He needed answers and he
Knew they couldn’t be found where he was. He said a tearful goodbye to his mother,
With him gone she wouldn’t need to feed two people and could go back to her love
Of crafting to support herself, and he would send her money and visit often.
He caught a ride with a group leaving for his hometown of Windhurst
And began his own tale.
He found work doing odd jobs for people in the different district and
Soon picked up a sword and began his training. He learned quickly and grew stronger
Daily. Eventually he ventured alone into Tahrongi Canyon. Unsatisfied with the border
Mobs he pushed deeper and deeper for greater challenges. Then he found one. Quickly
He was overwhelmed by a Yagudo Beastmen and his Elemental. When he felt surely
That all was lost he was rescued by a Paladin. Tyr was in awe! This powerful Knight
Cast a healing spell at the young warrior and easily dispatched both mobs in one
Fluid motion.
The Paladin escorted Tyrisian back to Windhurst and answered
Every question the awe struck warrior could think to ask about the Knighthood.
Finally Tyr had an answer. He began to focus more on his training, traveling to
Far away lands and grouping with other adventures. Eventually he made his way to
The kingdom of Sand’oria where he searched out Balasiel the Elvann Knight rumored
To know the way into the Knighthood. The Imposing Elvann sent Tyr on a number of quests to prove his worth. The quests were challenging and frightening requiring the
Young Hume to grow and overcome both to complete each quest and gain new ones.
Finally the day came when he was granted his well earned reward.
Tyrisian was named a Paladin and felt he could almost see his father and grandfather
Smiling down on him. His mother was very proud of him and though she died shortly
There after, Tyrisian was glad he had seen her a final time and that they both had done well for themselves.
During his years of training and the challenges to become a Paladin
Tyrisian had learned a great many things about himself and the world. From time to time he would try different jobs and fighting methods. Occasionally focusing on his skills
In magic, but always coming back to his role as a Knight and his desire to rid the world of the Beastmen and helping those truly in need.
He has grown in fame over the years In all of the four kingdoms
his name is known and still his adventure is just beginning. His dreams for the future include a united society, San d’oria, Windhurst, Bastok, and Jeuno together not just against the Beastmen but together for each other and the benefit of all.
