Yeah, you had seek flag up, deal. Depending on your rank, invites to party clear across the world aren't that strange.

But also, the other guy shouldn't have gotten all pissy over you turning invite down.

All in all, a big fat "whatever" to the whole thing.

well it wasnt really his fauilt. You made it sound like he didnt know you were that far away. Obviously he did. I dont see why lvl 53 pld has anything to do with anything though.

i know that invites accross the world are strange, but please dont forget:

Let's say that this "53 PLD" is lvling in kazham as a lvl 30 whateverjob. OK, so he probably just did: /sea all 30
So all the lvl 30's in the entire server will pop up, and it breaks down from there.

Now in your defense, you would usually only invite people who are near you, like in the next jungle or jeuno. This "53 PLD" just had no common sense. If you want to invite a RDM, dont invite one that is in a place like palborough or jugner who has a subjob or thief, etc. who is obviousely farming, or if he/she has flag up then it is for some special thing like BCNM, etc. (unless it states differently in comment, I am in windurst 90% of the time lvling cooking, but i have my flag up with comment saying i can warp to jeuno, my sub is this, i have that, blah blah blah, etc.

This "53 PLD" needs to spend less time thinking of ingeneous retorts such ass /sea all noob, and more time on reconstructive brain surgury.

It's your fault because you had your flag up. I've been saving people from gobs in Selbina while LFG waiting until someone sends me an invite in Jeuno to level in the nest. When I'm doing this I have a scroll of instant warp in my hand and am ready to go as soon as I get the invite.

You can't give someone shit for inviting you when you had a flag up that pretty much says "HEY! Look! I'm looking for a party! Invite me!" :D

Once I had my party flag up in Qufim and someone asked me to join a party in La Theine... (keep in mind I was level 19 at the time, so I couldn't take a chocobo.

Me: Sorry, it's too far for me right now.
Them: ....
Me: I'm in Qufim
Them: oooookay whatever
Me: *baffled*

in higher levels the /sea all is a pt's best friend. when pld or whm or whatever is scarce in the area your in, you have to search the whole server for pt members. more so when the wait to join a pt is hours. last thing im going to do is sit in jeuno for that long waiting. ill go farm while i wait and get an invite if im needed

Yeah you obviously are gonna look for people nearby, but thats a bit ridiculous. When I'm looking for members for a party, i usually make them because I'm sick of stupid setups, I will ask people not even seeking. But if I see someone in a clearly far away zone like Parlborough or something and I'm in Kazham, no point inviting. In fact, having partied with many JP groups, I tend to make a group in Jeuno rather than go to a zone and level there. Now when you are in Kazham, you dont invite someone not in Kazham. At the quickest, you are gonna take about 10 minutes, and more likely about 20.

I mean, I'd have went there if I wasn't busy, and I forgot I had my seek flag up, I was just sorta... ya know... SHOCKED that he invited me from half way across the world and i DID have thief sub on, yeah ok, I shouldve remembered to take off seek but even so, he could've found about two dozen more people in the time it would've taken me to get there, also he didn't offer for the expenses or anything he just said "You could warp" I replied with "And go to back to Bastok, not reducing the travel by any," at this point he dropped it.

I'm not the bad guy *hides the broken bottle*

No matter where I am usually in Crawler's Nest or Quicksand Caves I always do /sea all invite lvl-lvl. It easier to find members to fill in the holes about to open up and whatever and since most of the people are in jeuno seeking party for both areas just makes my job being a leader for a party or finding my own replacement alot easier.

Sorry Lokkin, but if I had been the pty leader and I needed your job I would have done the same. I do use /sea all function and when i see someone with his flag up far away from the leveling ground, I assume that he is farming with a warp possibility to jeuno (i do it myself often ... lol i even been invited without my flag up).

A simple no thanks should suffice, no matter what the PLD would like to think about it.

Yup, this is pretty much common practice. A lot of times, when someone has a thf sub and is in a far-off land, they usually have their HP set in Jeuno and can get there quickly.
A question would be, we he ACTUALLY partying in Kazham or was he merely starting a lvl53 party and happened to be in Kazhaam doing gaurd duty at the time?

doing a "/sea all 71-74" isn't common, just like what Masterorion said. i know i just don't look at who's seeking in jeuno. i seek the whole damn world, regardless if their seek is up or not or even if they're subbing thief. you be surprised that even those ppl that aren't seeking or is subbing thief for farming, that they COULD be interested in a party, just that they weren't lucky enough to get into one earlier. i always take a chance anyway... besides, what's the worst thing that can happen except a "no" or "i'm sorry i'm playing solo right now". granted that you did still have your flag up and meant to take it down... the guy was just looking for players that he needed. him saying that he was a "53 paladin"... he was just trying to prove that he wasn't an idiot and has "time in the books" in playing this game.

if you have a seek up and are in some godforsaken place farming i generally assume you have a warp scroll (or blm sub/main). You cant blame the guy for asking YOU had your flag up.

whether he had a 53pld or not isnt really important although he may have, early 50 players seem very proud of the fact and like to mention it whenever they can ~.^

lol i know, but in either case he must have noticed i had thf sub, he DID do /sea all

where on earth you been anywho mistaya? RL gettin in da way? had a huge row over it at What if.. RP
