Here's the dumbest of dumb questions...

I just spilled a half a bottle of water on my keyboard...

What are the odds that this is going to do perminant damage to it? I mean, it seems fine...

it has been my experience that Keyboards are relatively water resistant. You shouldn't go immersing it in a bathtub or anything, but it can handle a little water. I spill soda on my keyboard all the time (damn cluttered desk *shakes fist*) and the only bad thing that ever happened was the keys got sticky.

So no worries Yomi, should be fine ^_^v

Oh well that's good. It was like 50 bucks...

I blame the diet and the insessant water drinking I have to do...

Not too much. Although you might have problems in the future. I spilled coke all over my keyboard once. I just had to clean it... If your really worried. Take it apart and just give it a good wipe. Will work better than before!

as long as it's let to air dry and you shake out the majority of the water it should be fine.

if it's something that will turn into a sugary sticky mess if you clean it quickly it too can be fine.

Yeah, I shook out all the water right away, then wiped it down with a towel. It was just water at any rate, and it seems to be working perfectly.

I've spilled soda on my keyboard more than once....yea...more like somewhere in the neighborhood of 8-9 times or so in the 3 years i've owned it..Hey, okay, im clumsy, and a stoner. And onto of that i'm just naturally lazy. So I dont like lifting my hand more than a few inches off of my desk when reaching for stuff -_-.

Really though, one time I spilled a whole can of coke on it and it stopped working all together. I had an old keyboard as backup, so I hooked that sucker up for a while, but after about a month my old keyboard began to work once more.

..Not a whole lot to do with the topic at hand, but in my experience, spilling liquid on a keyboard, eight times out of nine, it will be fine. ..That sixth time, you've got to worry about. But thats it.

If I ever poured anything on my keyboard I would be buying a new one the next day... I cant work with a keyboard that feels used.

Water wont necessarily cause permanent damage... but soda, juice, anything with some form of chemicals or whatnot or that stains... it's enough to warrant getting a new keyboard. I spilt water on mine 3 times and it's held up... aint' even an expensive keyboard. Just sturdy and dirty =D

It was just water, I mean, it's cleaner, if anything else...lol
