I made a thread to warn everone about this noob named drgtamer. now i dont use the word noob lightly infact he's the fist person ive ever called a complete and utter noob and the only one ive seen who deserves it.
I posted his pt chat showing how he was a rank 8 lv 67 drg who was playing as a level 33 thf that didnt realize you could charge sata got satavb to wrk properly 1/8 times ect ect. I have teh parses too prove it. I only wanted to warn everyone about him. where should i post?

At first i posted this in the neighborhood watch but it's locked now

Why do i need to use the flameboard? It was simple proof that the guy sucked and was an idiot/bad player not a 9 hour bitching spree.
Also isnt the neighborhood watch forum suppossed to be used to warn others of crappy/cheating players ect so long as you have some evidence to back you up?

I think Neighborhood Watch is gonna collapse from idiocy. If it's not to warn people of bad players, theres no point to it. People will keep filling it, it will keep getting locked etc..and will die.

The purpose of this forum is to inform the community about incidents that occured in-game but could not be resolved in-game. Examples of this are the following: items borrowed but not returned, trade scammers, etc.

Please note that QCDN members are for the most part not GMs. If you have any reasonable hope to solve your situation through a GM Call, please do so before bringing the issue up here.

Please also note that posting about petty issues such as, but not limited to:
omg he or she didn't refresh me/us
omg he or she didn't port me/us
omg his or her gear sucks
omg he or she called me names in-game
omg he or she is trying to sell item X for Y gil
omg he or she is a noob
omg he or she is an elitist
etc etc etc
is not acceptable in this forum.

The flameboard is gone. There isn't anywhere on this site to say OMG what a loser because someone who has had SATA for 3 levels doesn't know how to use it. The Mod explained that when he locked your thread.

Try a different site...

instead of coming here and calling him names, say what he did. "Being a noob" is not a very good description. Something along the lines of "This guy was having trouble doing skillchains, I ofered freindly advice, told me I was a *random insult* it and became baligerant."

Explain what happened in detail. The objective is not to spite him and keep him from getting a party, but to warn us that it may be more time than it's worth.

Actually that was what i was doing. I simply also used teh adjective noob becsue for lack of a better word that wouldnt be censored on children tv that was the best way to describe him.

Honestly he was bad enough that i considered warning others of him a public service.
he didnt use sata properly. didnt know he would charge it despite his claiming to be a lv 68 drg, was rank 8 and didnt know this, could not sc if his life depended on it, one one occasion had 97 tp and didnt think to simply hit the monster once then satavb me in a skillchain instead of straight out sataing me,had 267-300 tp before he used viperbite on all other occasions, apparently didnt realize that he should have the monster facing away from me in order for sata to work. the list goes on...... his gear sucked too but thats besides the piont

edit forgot to mention his viperbits when he did use them properly were 177 and 200somelowlownumberdamage. when i was playing Thf as my first job i was pushing close to 500 but getting pissed at how I would never get past 499. My gear wasnt the greatest but i had some basic stuff and anything I could get from my windy CP+ i had stopped to get leaping boots at lv 30

I think this deserves a shot, sorry. I wouldn't wanna pt with someone like this. You say 3 levels? On average you get, what, 150-200 exp per kill right? lets say 175.. you need 17,400 exp to go from 30-33. (heh, pretty close for math's sake)
Thats 100 fights.
if you cannot learn a simple thing in 100 fights, go and sit with your moogle till you can.
Sorry ^^

This statement makes no sense at all. How is someone supposed to learn anything while sitting with the moogle?

FFXI is an MMO where a lot of players have had zero previous MMO, and even zero multiplayer experience. It's the "console generation" who grew up on single player RPG games.

Some people are able to learn from observation, others need help, yet others will never learn and can't be helped.

If someone is bad at something, then chances are those he or she partied with already told him or her so multiple times. That person joins a party, and basically expects someone to tell him or her how bad he or she is.

When that happens the "noob" player has already reached complaint-saturation, and it's not very surprising that the response to a confrontational remark is an equally confrontational remark.

Is there anyone around who can say that he or she took the "noob" aside and said "Hey, I noticed you aren't precharging SATA, would you like me to tell you how you can do that so that we all get more XP/hour?". Instead the "noob" was made to feel uncomfortable in front of the whole group.

What was the true intent? Making this guy into a better player, or getting a kick out of humiliating him in front of the group?

I always help people who end up confused.. I am not a thf but I know how to sata, I am not a tank but I know how to line up for it.. call me spoonfed if you will but I asked questions rather than jumped in blindly ;p

I'm no tank.. but I can line up as well... and sculli if someone has been told multiple times they stink at their job don't you think they'd ask questions and try not to stink.. god.. if i was told i was horrible.. i wouldnt party for like 2 months...

If this person was a new player i would completely aggree with you. If the person was a newbie then I would have simply taught the person how to play better and given tips.
The person i mentiond is Rank 8 and claims to have a lv 57 or some nuber ill check on that later drg. if a person is that highly ranked and has a job that level then there are things a person should not have to explain to them.

The intent was not to embaress the person it was to warn other not to party with the guy.
I shall say this nice and clearly. The post was NOT a flame I was merely stating how bad the person was as a warning posting info and screenshots to back up my claims and I was going to show a parse of how the thf that came after who interestingly didnt have uber gear either was doing compared to the allegged "noob" in question.
I had closed down the parser after the original thread got locked however the damage output of the new thf was increased by 100-300 on average chains were longer and anytime I used a skillchian with the thf the monster would not survive the mb from full health. That is the amount of damage that can reasonably be expected from a competent thf after 33 on BATS in garliage. I said competent not uber or great, simply a person who can sata and (hopefully) stack a ws with sata. Did I mention bats are weak to peircing which make this kind of damage very easy for thf? On beetles the monster was reduced to 20-30% after a proper skillchain.
The degee of low performance coupled with the fact that he was a rank 8 player made things suspicious at the least and at the very least i figred i could warn others of a bad player to stay away from. It's similar to a situation where if lets say "penut" had a server migration. Would it not be beneficial to other players to warn the people/hnm groups on the server of his previous behavior?

Edit: after the "noob" left the party went extremly well and i really need to get some sleep. on a side note i sucked at 37+nin tanking the frist 3-6 fights afs far as i was concerned since i got hit severa; times but ive gotten the hang of it now. /joy!
Gtg sleep must...stay...awake...to..push...edit...button................................

New Edit:Amazing how once I mentioned it wasn't a flame and was a factual and informative post noone bothers responding to this thread.. You guys are waaaay too bloodthirsty for a good old fasioned flameboard topic. Oh and if this degenerates into something like the 2-3people cursing at each other and detracting from the original content of the topic that normally happened in the flameboard please lock this.
