Well, Karen Matthews, who has just been jailed for kidnapping her own daughter, has been rewarded for her "good behaviour"... she got... a PS3...

WHAT THE FUCK?!

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-st...ets-playstation-as-a-rewards-115875-20970588/

(Yes, I know that British tabloids are never a credible source but that's all I have)

Evil mum Karen Matthews has been given a £300 PlayStation in her jail cell as a reward for being a model prisoner.

The benefits scrounger - who arranged for the kidnap of her daughter Shannon to claim reward money - has been categorised as an "enhanced" prisoner because of her behaviour. She also has a DVD player and TV in her cell.

Matthews, 33, is being housed on the "Care and Separation" - segregation - unit of New Hall Prison in Wakefield, West Yorks, where inmates can also watch a large plasma screen TV in the communal area.

But it's not all cushy for Matthews. She has to spend part of her time working as a cleaner and earns £10 a week - in the first job she has ever had. Matthews is waiting to be sentenced after being convicted of faking nine-year-old Shannon's disappearance with Michael Donovan, 40.

A prison source said: "She has kept her nose clean and is pretty much a model inmate. As a result, she's entitled to a PlayStation in her room and DVD player.

"It's unbelievable really that she can be so pampered after what she did to her own daughter. She just lounges around watching telly and playing on her console.

"She is extremely unpopular with other cons and is kept apart from them. There is an obvious fear that she will be a target for other criminals who want to get her back for what she did to her little girl."

Matthews, who has seven children by five different fathers, was branded the worst mother in Britain after it emerged in court that she routinely neglected her children and blew her benefits cash on drink.

PS3 has sold 17m units worldwide.

Players can create a virtual life in new feature PlayStation Home.

Retails at £299, games cost around £45.

The England football team play when they get together - and Lewis Hamilton plays racing games with his brother.

WHY DOES ENGLAND DO THIS?! ¬_¬

This wouldn't shock me if they did this in the US, but over there? C'mon...don't take after Busch...srsly.

Maybe she's changed her ways. No one knows. If she's being as good enough to receive that kind of treatment in a prison then maybe she's deserving of it. I usually brush off most people who think this stuff is some kind of great treatment for a prisoner unless they have been to prison themselves.

She makes roughly $20 in prison and it's her first job? 7 kids by 5 different fathers?... It doesn't matter if she has changed, she is living better than most people over there. I don't think my sister even made that much teaching in Leamington Spa for 5 years. That's disgusting.

I don't care if she might of changed her ways. What she did to her daughter is unacceptable.

I thought prison was a place for punishment? Let her with the other inmates and let them teach her a lesson. Fuck giving her DVD's and a PS3 to play with while inside.

Hope one of her inmates gets hold of her and makes her suffer.

Well it's a well known fact from a while ago that young offenders and ... people in general get better treatment in prison than outside... this isn't the first time it happened, happened to too many people.

"£10 a week"

You know someone that makes less than that in a weeks time of working? I wouldn't ever work for less than that for a few hours, much less a week. Also, how would you be able to handle being torn away from your life. Your family gone. Your job/career gone. Your friends gone. Everything you worked for in life just goes poof in a single instant and you're left to rot for years in an isolated cell. So what if one of these guys gets a bit of special treatment for being good. If they're being good then they are being good and deserve to be rewarded as such.

I also hate how people read/watch news and believe every word. News is still a business which is still after profit and will distort information any way they can in order to get your attention.

Prisoners get access to other forms of entertainment and I don't hear bitching about that. They can read books, write, have access to arts and crafts, etc.

That's fine and all, but British Prisons are treated like FUCKING HOTELS that you don't pay for. Hell, most people in the UK probably re-offend just so they can get back into the comfort.

And let's not forget, that this person was RECENTLY charged with kidnapping her own daughter for fraud for her more than likely drugged up boyfriend. She is the worst mother in Britain, with even the prisoners wanting to tear her a new one in disgust. She didn't earn these on "good behaviour", she fucking got them because she is a depressed fucker who was separated from regular prison due to her life being in danger for what she had done and would probably sell her kids to the devil for a bit of cash D=<

Right. I was skimming at work.

How would you be able to handle being torn away from your life? I don't care about how people who deserve to go to jail feel really. Don't commit a crime then get all upset about the repercussions. It's not like it was accidental manslaughter or something that "just happened".

And yes, I do know people who make less than that in a weeks time. I've had friends living in Mexico, Cuba and Africa who haven't had the luxury of a free bed or free daily meals. That $20 a week she gets is not including entertainment, food, clothes shelter, etc. So yea, it is a pretty sweet deal.

Fuck you guys, I'm moving to Britain and robbing a bank.
Also, I love how the quote they got refer to the cell as "her room". Fantastic.
