I was in Garliage at the time this all went down. I can vouch and say there were warning shouts and apology shouts.

I was safely dead by gate 3 for other reasons (stupid wearing in the wrong place sneak :x ).

I've done both. I've eaten deaths and I've zoned. When I first started playing it didn't even really occur to me for a while that it might be rude or shitty for other players to zone stuff--it was just what people did. I'd hear talk from higher level people in my LS of giant trains in CN that effectively shut the zone down, but at my lower levels it didn't really mean anything to me.

I hope I've gotten better at just going somewhere safe to die when this stuff happens, but like I said, it's not like I haven't done my share of stupid things or panic/selfishness/whatever hasn't gotten the best of me. But again as mentioned before, I think it's the "I had no choice" that bothered people--it's certainly what pushed my buttons.

I think I said somthing and meant somthing different when I said I had no choice, I didn't mean to make people think I'm some kind of asshat or anything, I didn't want to delevel, began to panic, and of course, ran to zone ~_~

Tymon was afraid of getting flamed and having his 'good name' on here sullied. That's why he apologized in 'general chat'.

If you're only going to apologize where you can't be properly scolded then it doesn't really imply to me that the person was 'sorry' or is really concerned with more then not looking bad.

If it was me I wouldn't have posted in the flame boards either, but then again I would have eaten the death like you're supposed to do. That's why it wouldn't be posted there or anywhere else. It wouldn't have happened.

At no point did he say he should have eaten the death. If he did and I missed it doesn't really matter though, because every excuse he's made has been detrimal to the fact he should have eaten the death.

On one hand Tymon keeps saying he's sorry for it, and yet on the other hand he's not actually said one word to make anyone feel he is legitimately sorry.

Only a few people died.
I tried to hold it a while.
I would have de-leveled even with a raise.

You know, maybe it is a good thing this isn't in the flameboards. I don't think I would have articulated my post this much to make my point when people gave me flak if this was in there.
 
The link is directed to the "NO SELF FLAMES" post Pupusa made, which is why Tymon did not post this on the flameboard. I honestly think you're thinking too deep into the original post. All he wanted to do was apologize...
 
The major difference between this and other examples of zoning is what and where you are doing it. This isn't like a Yuhtunga Jungle zoning of a Goblin Smithy. Most YJ pts can take one of those if they have to or at least live long enough to zone. This is a lvl 60 mob getting zoned into a place where level 32-34 people xp. If they don't immediately see the mob and zone, they can get 1-2 shotted and killed.

The defense of "well, I didn't want to level down" just isn't valid for this. I mean, if R3 wasn't enough to ding you back up if you had died, then you would've been maybe 1 fight away from getting the level again. You could've grabbed a friend and fought a few EPs to get your level back. For the people in Garbage trying to make it through the lower levels, this probably ruined their night. They don't get the option of R3 to make their xp loss next to nothing.
 
Hard to appologize with all the perfect beings that never do no wrong around here. :roll: Appologizing is like making it worse around here.

1. It went back and despawned within 10 minutes of being taken to zone.

2. That's not the point.

Whether you want to say that I'm not legitimately sorry or this or not, I am. I know I am because this thread and just this happening in it self bothered me very badly, and I've been thinking this entire day of some way of getting it across that I really am sorry for this happening.

I'm not a people person, I've been told before that when I've either tried to apologize for somthing, or other reasons, that I sound like a asshole/cocky prick in doing so. I don't mean to sound like this.

I can understand that I was wrong for saying "I had no other choice" because I did, and that WAS being a asshole, and I'm sorry for sounding like that.

On the instances of holding it at zone, shouting, etc isn't some way of blowing up my E-penis like some of you imply, I was trying to save as many people as possible before it began it's rampage back to the little room it despawns in, which didn't take long, and for that I'm glad.

To summarize, I did NOT post this to come across as a prick, I didn't post this to "improve" whatever "reputation" I have on this board, which I never even thought of until you mentioned this, I posted this to apologize for the incident, I'm truly sorry to those that died, and next time I will think before zoning one of the hardest mobs in the zone.
 
Hey Strid, he straight up asked what people would do in his situation. People are replying. It might be a bloody shock to you that some people wouldn't zone a mob double the people's lvl on top of them when they could eat 300-400 xp themselves, but some people are nice like that.

well since you asked, you guys should have known better for clicking on something and not knowing what it was. Therefore, you should have been like "oh my god I'm a dumbass!" and stood there and died instead of how you did handle it :p

The point is that he comes and apologizes. What did he expect to happen when he described what he did? Were we all supposed to come with bouquets of flowers and forgive him and act like nothing happened? Of course not. Once the topic is created, it's here for everyone to discuss. While it's perfectly well and good that he apologized, that doesn't change the fact that I and others think what he did was completely wrong. It's not my job to accept his apology because I wasn't there. I posted my disagreement with his actions.

So to summarize, good job with the apology. *thumbs up* It doesn't negate what you did though, and I still disagree with it.
