why is it only a select few on these boards believe in the whole "I will die before i Inconvinence others." philosophy? Because I've seen an awful lot of training lately... from lvl 1-44 i've been steamrolled, buried, and otherwise eaten alive because other people had to zone something... and you know what? I honestly dont mind. '-'; Because i've trained a few gobs myself in the past and its not a big deal. If a train comes, you can see it, if a shout comes, you zone. Theres not that many common train zones and the ones there are are very very well known for being hazardous.
Honest question, no sarcasm, how many deaths do you guys think you have eaten (roughly) to save others the inconvienence of having to zone? You arent saving them a death, you are saving them the inconvienece of having to zone. If they zone with you, its an inconvience but no one loses exp. If they dont I don't think the fault is entirely the train bringer's if he gave warning. (mostly yes, maybe 75%,but 25% is surely the parties fault for ignoring the warning.)
Its ok Ty, I dont think you necessarily did the wrong thing, and the apology is very nice. I'm probably going to be flamed or talked down to for this post but in my defense I try to avoid situations that require a train in the first place, yet even today we had a beetle pop on our party in Quicksands and had to zone. Had there been another party there they would have been hit by the beetles on their return trip. We also got nearly wiped because a bst had to zone or get killed and the antican he was fighting came back too fast for us to finish our mob.
My point is training is much more common than not training, and self martying to save others a bit of time is a very kind gesture, but I dont think it is a mandatory one, and I wouldnt think less of a person because he didnt follow this unwritten rule. Which I think is what Strid is trying to say as well. There is nothing wrong with setting high standards for yourself, but holding everyone to that measure is unfair.
Also you keep assuming he would get a raise 3 out of this, but i dont see anyplace it says he would. He said he wouldnt get his level back even with a raise 3 but thats assuming he got one at all. And theres been times where I have had new gear that I already sold the lower level gear and would literally show up to a party naked if I didnt retain my level. I can consider that scenario "No choice." I am not saying that is the case in this but there are times when it is very important that you dont die.
I tried to keep this as civil as possible since it is general discussion. Sorry if i come across too flamish.
