Hi!

I've been reading up on this game for awhile, and was hoping to pick up this game within the next two weeks or so (depends on how much money i get on my paycheck D: )

I'd have a few hours a night to play, think I could make this game work? I know you all have huge headstarts on me, but just hoping for some fun!

I enjoy long walks on the beach, fast cars, and have played a few other MMOs.

So...hopefully I can learn stuff here and decide if this is the game for me!

Good luck and I hope that you like FFXI. It does have a bit of a learning curve but information on this forum can help. There's a good bit of people here who are willing to answer any questions. :)

Very cool! I was hoping that there would be some nice people around here. From the looks of your banners, you're all into partying, so i'm probably in the right place!

I'm surprised no regulars have done it yet. Right here is the FAQ area for the site. http://www.qcdn.org/ffxi/showthread.php?t=50793

If you pick the game up, Quetz is a good server with generally decent people. If you have a decent amount of time each week to invest into the game, you'll catch up pretty fast.

K, there's a pretty good search feature on here, figure I'll be able to figure out where most threads are using that while sipping a cold one rather than bother you folks with simple questions.

Thanks for the welcome and the information, today's vote is  for FFXI!

Welcome!

What the hell is that thing in your av? Hah.

it's Scarecrow from Batman Begins isnt it? And welcome to the game and the server if you do purchase it.

Slight update and information about myself:

I have a lot more free time now due to certain constraints having been lifted. I spent a few hours last night using the search function to find out about the jobs I'm interested in, as well as browsing other resources (wiki was mentioned quite a bit on this forum).

I'm an accountant irl, so I appreciate the use of numbers used when proving a point. It seems there are quite a few people on this forum who think they know everything, and usually do. There are others that think they know everything, and usually don't. Still others seem to just be in the 'fun' phase where nothing matters, they just want to be here and have a good time. Is this an accurate description?

I'd like to play this game for fun, so I think I fit most into the third category, however I can't ignore my analytical side. Beer helps me ignore it however, so i clink my glasses to you all in a good gesture of fun.

Let's split a sixer on me!

Might make my decision this weekend, nervous...48 hours of no work, yard work needs to be done though, what do i do?!?!
