Made my first post in 2+ months this morning, wasn't derogatory, and the thread was already off topic. My post wasn't on-topic, but none had been for 3 pages, and post after mine are going further off topic. Yet mine was deleted with no explanation...reason?

The message at the top of the screen said to add something to a discussion...thats gone now, so the post went through...yet my last post is Feb 21st...

explanation yo

I checked for replies from shyrra for the next hour, and it was the last post in the thread...for awhile it was the last post in the forum, I could see my name from the Main qcdn page...it wasn't lost.

oh... Guess Im still the black sheep, then :(

I see no soft delete placeholders in the last 2 pages of that thread. If your post was deleted, it was hard deleted and unrecoverable.

But I couldn't see any of the mods doing this without sending you a PM explaining why, or at the very least posting to the mod forum with an explanation. vBulletin is a database, and errors do occur - I once tried to merge 2 threads (on a private forum), and though it reported no errors it ended up completely deleting both threads and all the posts within.

I'd chalk this up to database error.

I've received no explanation on hard-deleted posts before in the good times thread...the database error just so happened to only get my post, none before and none after? Forgive me for being skeptical

I'm not saying it's impossible that your post was deleted, just highly improbable. I'm sure if I checked the history in the mod forum there would be some sort of indicator that your posts were deleted in the previous thread you're talking about.

Yes, it is possible a database error can happen on only your post. I'm no DB specialist but I could speculate all day about possible reasons why the error occurred - example, maybe you submitted a post with the same ID as a new thread someone else was creating, since post IDs and thread IDs can be the same (I think). The database sees two IDs being created at the same time, and only writes the first one it reads.

Did anyone else see your post? That would be a raging clue as to whether it was deleted or error'd.

I've noticed a lot of my posts getting deleted lately. In kink's thread asking about a gift for her nephew, I suggested sucking him off, and that got deleted for some reason.

I was merely suggesting going with her strengths and what her profession made her good at =/

I saw it.

As I mentioned above, the post was visible from the main page until someone posted in a different thread in the flameboard. I checked the thread string a good 5 times before 11am EST...then got busy until I checked now.

Meeze, thats the type of posts that mysteriously deleted from my good times threads...this time I behaved

When Databases errors occur, you aren't ever able to see the thread. Its an error adding to a database. To remove something from a database once it exists, you need to perform some action, be it by SQL or a command prompt to remove it from said database.

Well that blows my theory to bits. I can't check logs to see details of what happened either, sorry.

Appreciate the effort...I have a sneaking suspicion who did it

This has happened to me a couple times, Jamal and both times it was a completely harmless post. Send me a PM.

While i didn't see the post i am 100% sure that i saw Jamal as the last person to post in that thread. I just didn't care enough about that thread to look at it.
