Unable to install ToAU. FFXI not installed???

Ooh I finally got the ToAU.... and I cant install it.

Right after agreeing to the ToS, it pops a message saying that I dont have FFXI installed...
and its freakin there, in the default folder made by the FFXI install itself. :mad:

I read on allak, that someone had this problem too, and he have tried both the cd and dvd version of FFXI.
He also said that he talked with the FFXI staff, and they are clueless on what to do....

Sigh, maybe its a sign to stop FF forever :wacko:
 
I'm still having problems logging into the game...(ie when I reach the character screen, my screen goes blue and restarts)

yeah....and it says I need a new graphics driver...unfortunately my laptop is on the newest driver (the newest update on ATI does not apply to my computer).

umm anyways...Imma reinstall xi... (course I have version 1.1 so it'll take forever... ><)

I'm thinking that this is a sign to stop playing on my end as well :-/
 
Get the latest radion driver from omegadrivers.com. They continue to update old cards after ATI stops.
 
:) thanks for the help...tried omega.net...and installed...then my computer didn't start up...so i had to reboot into safemode and unistall the driver.

I <3 my luck I thought I was out of the woods there for a sec

Edit: I found out that my computer was not compatible with the omegadriver...go figure >.<

im having the exact same problem, says that i dont hav ffxi installed which is stupid cuz ive been playing it for 2 years.

any help at all is very much appreciated.
 
just because you cant get ToAU ur willing to quit the game? what kind of try is that? not being able to go to some new areas is not the end of your life, and eventually you'll probably get it working so don't worry.

After 3½ hours waiting yesterday, I got to talk with a FFXI staff dude.

He said its because I was trying to install the EU version onto NA FFXI.
And when I looked closer to the box with ToAU, I noticed it really was the EU version... dammit...
 
Ok here is a 100% fool proof plan that will make your computer work....HIT IT HARD!

I did this too Kanash. Very frustrating. >_< So what are we supposed to do with this? I can't believe that you can't install the EU version on top of the NA one. So stupid and ARGH!! ; ;

And I was 100% sure that I had already installed the EU CoP onto my NA FFXI before... but to my surprise, it was the Can/French version of CoP I had installed lol...

You can try return your copy to the store and ask about the NA version, even thu getting a refund is most likely not going to happen.
No shops in Denmark will accept an open and used merchandise as return.

Best bet is to find somewhere that import or sell the NA version too.
Maybe EBgames... they have shops all around the world it seem.

You could try lure a friend into playing FFXI, and make him/her buy your EU copy of ToAU.
That was the only thing I was succesfull in doing lol.

Alrighty, I found a reply on Allak, where it should make it possible to install ToAU with the EU version onto the NA version...

HOWEVER!!!!!!
It is not possible to register your ToAU with an EU key, when you are using an NA FFXI... so much for that solution.

And its true alright... Just tried register my copy without installing it, and it says the key is invalid.

i sent an email to my supplier and theyre offering me a full refund in return, theyre not getting the US copy though or sumthing, cuz their suppliers said that this version wuld work for both US and EU but it doesnt.

so i guess once i get my refund ill hav to buy it off amazon or sumthing ><

another 2 week wait T.T
