People need to quit dropping the prices on Darksteel ore. So far I've wasted about 20k just putting ore up on the AC only to have the price drop on me after I put it up. If you mine and put your darksteel on the AC then quit fucking undercutting. People will buy it for 40-50k, hell people will buy it for 60k, but you undercutters that are looking for a quick sale need to stop. At most there are between 10-30 ore on the AC at a time. That amount will go in about a day or two so either be patient or get the fuck out of the ore mining business. or if you want Bazaar it for the lower price so it still retains a good market value. I promise you this though, if I see an undercutter mining somewhere I will follow you around and mine right on top of you.
 
Shit. You think you've got it bad. I have no idea how many stacks of platinum nuggets I'm sitting on, but it's got to be at least 6 dozen... And I can't sell the fuckers for the life of me because no matter what price I put them up for, someone else drops the price by 5 or 10k.
 
As a Smither i love undercutting on Darksteel ore and in my opinoin it should go back down to what it was before the infaltion shit hit the fan

yeah thats not bad, i remember selling icarus wings @80k, and selling just as fast as they do now at 40k? and platinum nuggets is worse... i eventually just bit the bullet and gave a bunch away to a friend, and sold the rest

its annoying for sure, but items only have the value we place on them. i think when someone "undercuts" its because they want to sell thier shit fast and are hoping to have theirs put up for the lowest amount and to sell first but at or near the going price. but buyers know people do that shit and always bid way lower and kinda work their way up untill they can get what they want for as cheap as possible. all of this is understandable. the undercutter either only hurts himself with getting less than his due or settles for less for a quick sell. everyone who doesn't want thier shit to sell for less needs only to not create a trend of lower prices, leave your shit on the AH at what you put it and only lower your price if it gets sent back to you when time has expired

Yeah well the whole point of my flame is I got my ore sent back to me twice because of this whole thing. 20k really isn't much money but the inventory mess that getting 7 peices of ore sent back to you creates sucks ass.
 
And now we've come full circle. Not too long ago the board was flooded with complaints about inflation. It's a good sign that people are now complaining about undercutting.

yes, it's a sign when people who were complaining about inflation are now complaining about undercutting that things are back to normal, sort of... rejoice for they have what they wanted, lower prices!
 
lol20k.. Try putting Mountain Gaiters up for 3mil (thats a chunk of tax) to see the next day its at 2.5.... do it AGAIN and now its 2m? did it a THIRD time, undercut to 1.9...... screw it ._.

Undercutters rock.. I got an Iolie for 20k under last sale ;) 20k IS a lot when youre penny pinching! Undercutters are awesome.. Restabalize the economy :D
 
I tried to list my Colossal Lance on the AH 3 times.

First for 10mil.

Then 8mil.

Then 6mil.

Still hasn't sold.

You add it up.

Undercutting means prices are going down, so either whine about rising prices or whine about undercutting... make up your damn mind.

Its not the ore being undercut, its the ingots at the moment. Ore price adjusts because people making ingots wont pay for ores at the higher price if they cant sell their ingots higher anymore.
 
Undercutting is a wonderful part of our economy. It's really simple.

Let's say Restaraunt A offers a cheese burger for 5 bucks.

Restaraunt B offers a cheese burger for 3 bucks.

Same Burger.

Now, Restaraunt A makes more money per burger, but, why pay 2 more bucks for something that's the same you can get at B for 3 bucks?

It's basic economics. You lower your prices, and soon other's can't keep up with your prices. So when you are the primary supplier you push the price back up, and people have to pay or go without the precious commodity.

I may be wrong, and if so I apologize, but as I've previously stated, isn't this the basis of a Capitalist economy like America and our own FFXI Auction House?

Try a PCC @ 20mil and someone knocks them down to 18!:shok:

But what could you do? I guess we do have to appreciate the economy leveling out again.
 
at least u lost such little money. i bought a cassie earring for 16M its now around 8M. Flame rings for 7M now around 4-5M. alot of loss is gonna happen just best to deal with it ; ;. Cassie is still pretty much Gil seller controlled so it will go up again tho....
 
as someone who'll prolly level up with darksteel ingots in the future (I think).. DROP DROP DROP!
 
Darksteel dropping is a glorious thing, and I'm not even a smith. Now, if only Adaman would drop!
