Just got my medical board scores back!
For anyone looking to go into medicine or psychiarty, this is your first *serious* examination towards your MD after the MCAT you take at the end of your undergrad career. It tests basic science knowledge blended with entry-level clinical skills.
They don't like to do percentiles any more like you get on your SAT's since they don't want people to get caught up in competing and comparing, but judging by the mean and standard deviation I scored better than around 82% of all medical students.
Pics!
I don't know what the sam hill I did on the cardio. I guess I must have brushed it off thinking I knew it. Score would have been pretty ridiculous if I had studied that one freaking topic more >.<
Oh well. For a 24 year-old former athlete competing against former nurses, ER techs, Physician's assistants, pharmacists, graduate researchers, and just plain next-level geniuses, that'll do for me! 239 should keep my competitive options open while putting me in good position in the less competitive field I want to go into-- Internal Medicine/Pediatrics.
I hit the hospital floor at the end of July. Can't wait, finally out of the freaking classroom for good.
