I've added a couple parses today using,

1. Kirin's Osode + Senjuinrikio/Unji
2. Haubergeon +1 + Unji/Unsho

And if you look a couple parses down to May 10th you will find a parse that I did with Haubergeon +1 + Senjuinrikio/Unji at the identical camp. So the only thing I'm missing is Kirin's Osode + Unji/Unsho but I don't think it will make the Katana's perform better since Hauby +1 and Senj/Unji is better then Osode.

Anyways I was really hoping Unsho would outperform Senj/Unji and maybe it does if I parsed it for longer then 60 fights. I would really appreciate some counter-arguments for the Unsho lovers out there that can justify this Katana as being worth it over Senj/Unji.

My site link is in my signature, please check out the "Parses" link and let me know your arguments for and against Unsho.

Personally I think the problem might come down to the TP Nerf and that with my Haste build I'm not getting to 100 TP fast enough with Unji/Unsho to do more weapon skills then I do with Senjuinrikio/Unji.

Not quite sure how to explain it, but both setups do come very close to parsing identical since tp nerf.

Major difference I've personally noticed since switching to U/U:
Better WS consistency and DoT consistency

With the S/Unji:
Higher WS output if crit. factor lands on each hit.
Chance of lower WS output if no crit. factor lands.

Also, in the may 10 parse just noticed you had a mnk/nin do a bit less dmg which is understandable, and on may 29 the war/nin did a bit more and that probably cut into your final parsed #'s for that day.

I think if you gave it about 50 more fights you would've seen it parse slightly better - your crit factor is already quite high with merely half the battles without the crit % from Senj. added in compared by the two days.

But imo in the end, U/U probably does a bit better dot as you can see the avg. is about 47.5U/U vs. 50S/U, added in the factor youre adding a hit or two means youre doing more dot, including the more consistent ws damage that shows over time moreso rather than a chance for bigger numbers every other fight or so.

I suppose it is personal preference, as well, and probably most varies by race. As Taru with naturally lower str, the str boost on each katana is quite welcome. :)

No way am I an expert on parses but maybe the outside perspective is useful, but most likely this is information you knew by now.

I just finished another PT using U/U and it redeemed itself from last night by getting quite a few over 1000 WS's with a couple in the high 1200's which is all 4 hits crit'ing and Berserk/Warcry/Minuet IV.

Why don't you start a parsing static deci? Ensure everyone makes no changes to their gear, merits, and behaviour in the party. Go to the same camp, somewhere you'll encounter little competition (non-optimal merit camps will have to be considered). Kill the same number of mobs. Eat the same food. You could even go balls and record moon phase & elemental day, but you may have to run 2 instances of the parser - one to track overall results and one to track per-day or per-moon results.

Your parses do accurately portray your results, somewhat. But comparing weapon A vs. weapon B or armor X vs. armor Y is fruitless if you have other variables changing in each scenario.

The only way you're going to get the ultimate end-all answer is to operate in a closed environment and eliminate every variable you possibly can. There will always be /random involved, but your current parses have inconsistencies that could be making all the difference in your outcomes.

deci-- let me know if you do want to try some things though-- ive got a new gear setup i tried the other night that im interested in messing around with...

plus i got the ugly turban now
