Reason for the Untitled is because I have no idea what to call it. The reason for this story is because we have to do free writes in english class and so I decided to make a story. Also, while I was writing, I decided to make QCDN 'star' appearances(sp?), haha. Please, if there are any mistakes, such as bad grammar use, punctuation, etc. Please be honest and tell me, I need to learn to become a better writer if I were to write something to publish. Also, be honest on how you feel about the story, am I drifting too far somewhere? Losing interest fast in some spots? Please tell me. Thank you, and enjoy.
Part 1
"Kisha!" Zayko hollered out into the quiet forest. "Come on Kisha! I quit playing this stupid game!"
Zayko heard a loud brustling in the bushes nearby.
"Kisha?" Zayko asked. After a few moments of silence, Zayko seemed puzzled. "Kisha? Kisha, you can come out, you win again, like always." Zayko walked over to the bush. A brisk shadow pounced out from the bushes, heading towards Zayko.
Zayko ducked in fear. Amazingly the creature halted in mid-air. The creature was a shadow, and took form of a female ninja. Her eyes glew with fire, and darkness of shadow engulfed her body. She spoke, but with no movement. "Are you the one we have been searching for?"
"Huh?" Zayko replied, puzzled and frightened.
"Is your last name Xios!"
Zayko nodded.
"Then you are him! However...Your still a child; you can't wield such a great weapon yet..." The shadow dissapeared.
Zayko, now even more confused, stood there.
"Zayko! You can't find me if you just stand there!" Kisha tacked Zayko playfully, Zayko didn't even flinch. He was too lost in thought. "Zayko?"
Zayko looked at Kisha after coming back to reality, "Kisha...who was that woman?"
Kisha looked at him with the same confused look that Zayko wore. "What are you talking about?"
"Nothing...It's nothing."
Zayko and Kisha walked down the dirt path through the forest to their village. Zayko lost in thought again, had an emotionless expression on his face.
"Zayko, what are you thinking about?" Kisha asked.
"Hmm? Umm...It's nothing," Zayko replied, "Let us get home before dark."
They ran down the grassy hill to enter the village. They both said 'bye' and went to their own homes.
Zayko entered his house, his mother cooking dinner.
"Just in time for dinner! Go wash up," Zayko's mother ordered him.
Zayko and his mother sat at their table. Eating silently, not even a word, no 'how was your day?' or 'how have you been?'
"Three more days, and you will be ten," the mother smiled. Zayko nodded in reply. "Anything you want inparticular?"
Zayko shook his head, "No."
After dinner, Zayko washed the dishes, and quickly went to his room. His room only contained his bed, and a rug. He laid in his bed thinking about what that weird woman was talking about.
The next morning, Zayko woke up and quickly put on his training clothes and took his bokken(wooden katana) and dashed for the dojo. Didn't even bother with breakfast.
He entered the dojo, bowed in, and bolted to his spot in the middle of the class.
"Today students, we will review defense techniques," the dojo master announced, "Zayko, you will be my partner again today."
Zayko was always his partner. All the other students go harder on him because he was the youngest to be enrolled in the school.
The teacher bowed to Zayko, and Zayko did the same. His silverish blue hair didn't move, like if they permenant horns on his head. The teacher pulled out his bokken, and so did Zayko, and the teacher darted his sword in a downward angle. Zayko parried in correspondance, pushed the teachers sword up, slid the bokken down the others blade and hit the teachers hand to knock it out.
"Well done! Fastest i've seen all year!" The teacher praised Zayko. Other students began to grumble in disgust.
Zayko bowed, "Thank you, Sensei."
After a few hours of training, it was time to leave. Zayko left first. Jealous students followed Zayko, and chuckled at ideas of getting back at Zayko.
"So, Zayko, I heard the teacher thinks you are good with the sword," one of the students said, also the biggest.
Zayko turned around, "Yeah, so, I practice everyday."
"Well, let's see if it was all worth it," the kid smiled and pulled out his bokken.
"You know we can't fight outside the dojo!" Zayko announced, also to avoid a fight.
"Who cares!" The kid strook. Zayko quickly pulled out his bokken and parried the oncoming strike. He knocked the bokken right out of the kids hand and it the kid in the face.
All of the other students started laughing, "Oh my, you got owned by a kid five years younger than you!" One of the kids yelled out.
"Are we done?" Zayko sheathed his bokken, and turned to walk away.
"No! You little brat!" The kid said, picking up his bokken and dashed towards Zayko.
"Young man! You put away that weapon and come inside for dinner! Immediately!" The kids mother yelled out from her door. The kid stopped and looked down, "Yes mother..."
Zayko walked into his house. Jumped onto his bed. He looked out the window at the stars, still thinking of what that Shadow-like woman was talking about.
*********************************************************
"Run away!" A voice exclaimed from outside that followed with a scream of death.
Zayko woke to the sudden screaming and the smell of burnt wood. Zayko jumped off his bed and ran outside his room only to see the front door open and his mother absent.
He ran outside, only to stop dead in his tracks. A black demon with eyes of ruby. It's skin was like charcoal. Zayko looked at what it have been feasting on. His mother.
A demon grabbed Zayko from behind. Zayko jumped, as the nine foot tall creature drooled over Zayko's shoulder.
"Get your hands off of him!" A lance pierced the demon's stomach, it missed Zayko by a hair. Zayko jumped to the side and fell backwards. A man wearing navy blue armor, pulled his lance out of the dead demon's gut. His bright golden hair, spooted with demon blood, was reflecting the sun like his armor.
The man walked towards Zayko, "Are you alright?" The man asked. Zayko was speechless. He has never seen anyone like this before. Was he dreaming?
"Not much for words huh?" The man assumed.
Zayko looked back at his mothers grave, the demon still feasting. The man looked over, assumed that was Zayko's mother. the man suddenly dissapeared and struck the demon from the sky, the demon's shadow was implanted into the ground, but no demon was to be found.
"This is your mother I assume?"
Zayko nodded in reply.
The man sighed, "Come with me." Zayko got up, he attempted to run into his house to grab a painting of his mother. However, the house was already caught in flames, and falling apart. It seemed the whole village was a ghost-town, except lit with fire, and darkened with smoke.
The man stood as if waiting for something. A small blue dragon came out from the smoke. "Welcome back Ember," the man smiled to the dragon, "My name is Eleibfrid by the way."
