Just like this month with the Quote of the Year 2005, Thread of the Year 2005, and QCDN Logo contest, I plan to run monthly contests.
I am currently either already in contact, or plan to get in touch with several potential sponsors. I also have already gotten plenty of rejections from companies I though would make great sponsors. It's a bit tricky to get free stuff when you don't have a whole lot to offer in return.
Anyway, what kind of contests would you like to see this year?
Here is what I do and don't want to do:
I don't want to create additional quote or thread contests (i.e. Best General Discussion post of May 2006 or some such).
I do want to run contests that are based on user votes, meaning I don't want to be in the position of having to make a decision as to who wins and who doesn't.
I do want to provide a grand prize and two runners up or some such.
I do want to continue with the current scheme, meaning no contest runs longer than one months, including voting.
The voting part can probably be more flexible, perhaps 3 weeks of entries, and one week of voting, instead of the current 2 and 2.
Discuss.
P.S.: Screenshot contest would work, but it would have to be themed somehow (i.e. recreation of a movie scene or some such).
