update details Apr. 18, 2006

Well that's gay. I had no idea the max # of hits in a WS was 8.

Actually, it's the only thing keeping MNK from being the ultimate DD... Full boost asuran rips through any defense. 300% Asuran, Does. Not. Miss. I can land all 8 hits on Kirin with that thing, if I somehow get the TP to do it. Now add double attack and critical to that, and we're talking... well, the most obscene WS in existance.

Amood (Great Axe)

DMG: 88 Delay: 504
Enhances "Resist Virus"

Latent effect:
DMG: 58
Occasionally attacks twice

Out of sheer curiousity and a desire to continue with the threadcrap, personal record?

Again, this is the same thingTagrineth said and is an easy mistake. Your hate will still be on the list even if claim swaps. This only involves claiming. Hate lists will work the same as they always had. Otherwise I this would be exploited constantly and everywhere. Any fight/hnm/bcnm could be handled easily by just leaving your healer outside the alliance that has claim. They could cure bomb the tank and never worry about taking hate. Think of cure heavy bcnm battles. If the healer disbanded from party after entering, they could cure everyone without hate. Additionally, if the party with hate died, under your way, the mob would never go after the person who had been healing. Or imagine a blm has done 5k points of dmg, then claim swaps. Suddenly he has 0 hate? Not likely. Or even better, have the blm deal 10,000 points of dmg and drop party. He no longer has claim, so his hate should go to 0 according to Tag's logic.

Just look at the pictures. They do an excellent job of explaining the changes exactly and explicitly. This a change to claiming, and claiming only. Nothing else is getting changed by this.
In understand the fact that this is for claiming, but then it's really only a prevention against immediate steals, this could still be used for MPK's in Dragon's Aery. All it would take is a single cure, then invincible and there'd still be a spike flail, they don't care about claim at that point. It also doesn't really deal with what would happen to someone who had the mob stolen from them but pushed themselves to the top of the hate list after the steal.

Somewhere around 1.8k on an Adamantshell (weak as hell to blunt). If crit/double attack were possible, that'd probably be up well past 3k. Now for non-Boreal Hound targets, 1.3k on a spartoi. Nothing special for numbers. But again, add another 200 damage for double attack, and anywhere from 100-800 for critical... and we're talking broken. Very broken.

And as to the Amood... it's got a TP gain mode and a WS mode, now we just needa figure out what the switch is for the latent. Main point is that it's a sexy Great Axe.

Yep. You have no idea how big the organ in my pants is right now.

There's a new scythe with 97 dmg, 99 in Assault...

There was a 97 damage scythe before hand too. Orichalcum. 98 on the HQ.

But here's the thing. 85/489 = 10.42 DPS. 12% TP Gain. It's pretty much a Nagan with Triple Attack bonus, and a chance to do fire damage.

97/528* = 11.02 DPS. 12.6% TP Gain. So using those amounts to 0.6 more DPS, at the loss of a 3% Chance to Triple Attack. Also over half a second slower in attack speed.

Scythe got trumped.

*The delays a guess on my part, but similiar damage should mean similiar delay.

Death Scythe and orichalcum already have 97. And the dmg isnt gonna do shit if the ws suck compared to Spinning Slash. Honestly with Algol, I dont wanna go back to using scythes.

Everyone forgets the Trecadem (sp) Scythe, with its every 13th hit a critical. Works out to about +6% crit rate if you've already got 10%, which you should with merits. >.>

Obviously whatever SE has planned to encourage Scythe usage, aint' coming with this update. Unless it's part of the TP update.

Blockaid is for that situation. I didn't think fafnir went unclaimed usually while fighting. I figured it was the kited hnms that regularly went unclaimed like KB. In the case of fafnir, a pld would have to slip in a flash and invincible during a brief moment of it being unclaimed, but even then wouldn't get claim unless he topped the main tanks hate. If that tank has been holding hate for a while, I don't think that would do it, but never know.

I think we can safely say that, with this new update... As long as a shell remains alive while fighting XXX mob, they will retain claim on it until one or the other of them is dead?

All this "but people might forget blockaid, or XXX" is just that, possibilities of people forgetting. Just like they might forget and do Shield Break instead of Steel Cyclone. Human stupidity isn't the issue, it's what can be done when people arn't being stupid.

Yea, you'll be able to steal it, if it goes unclaimed, for the first 10-20% of the fight.. but after that, assuming something very strange isn't going on with hate (tanks dying repeatedly, etc), the PLDs would have enough hate to where not even Flash / Cure IV - Invincible could get it off.

im not sure about fafnir, but on cop wyrms when they do horrid roar the tanks lose all buffs and hate, idk about fafnir bc i never tanked him and been roared by him

Can someone show me the info on this /blockaid command is cause i've never heard of it and I didnt notice it in the updates message.

Blockaid's been out for a while now. It stops anyone not in alliance from doing... anything to you. Invites, buffs, cures, just about anything. /? blockaid when the game comes back up for a better explanation.

Preparing update finally ^^
